HALLOWEEN: Michael Myers Comes Home In This Terrifying New Trailer For The Horror Sequel

As promised, a new trailer for David Gordon Green's Halloween revival is now online, and it provides a terrifying glimpse of what to expect from the return of Michael Myers. Check it out after the jump...

Jamie Lee Curtis promised us a new Halloween trailer today, and it's now online.

The teaser kicks off with Michael Myers about to embark on another killing spree, selecting a hammer as his weapon of choice before deciding on something a bit more familiar. We then cut to Laurie Strode (Curtis), who has been preparing for the return of her unstoppable nemesis ever since he was taken back into custody 40 years earlier.

Those hoping to get a glimpse of some bloody carnage from this trailer might be disappointed, as it dials back the gore for the most part - but that doesn't mean the scares are absent by a long shot!

David Gordon Green's film is a direct sequel to John Carpenter's iconic original, meaning that the events of all of the previous follow-ups - including the still highly regarded Halloween 2 - have been retconned out of existence.

Tell us, what did you think of the new trailer? Are you looking forward to Halloween 2018? Drop us a comment down below.

@Oskir - Plot-Twist. Halloween II & up were all nightmares Laurie had in the 40 years of silence.

Pretty great trailer. You can see where they copied from the movies that they are ignoring, but still a great trailer. Maybe I'll see this in theater. Still not very fond of them ignoring everything that came after the first Halloween, but hopefully this movie will make up for that by being great.

This looks absolutely perfect.

My only worry is that film crew aspect might annoy, and remind me of Halloween: Resurrection kind of...and no one wants that.

I wonder if they’ll show his face or keep it a secret, like he could be anybody.

I'm a MAJOR Michael Myers fan, I dress up as him every Halloween to scare the trick or treaters. I do really like the look of the mask in this new film, previously I think the mask looked the best in Halloween 4 (subsequently 4 is my favorite Halloween film).

@HeavyMetal4Life - yea i think that was close because john had the idea that Michael is a concept more than a man..... it's supposed to have kinda of a ghostly face like that one ..... the original film he picked those girls at random which is what suppose to make him more unsettling.

@knocturnalzen10 - yeah, agreed. But... I do like the mythology of the character that Halloween 4 and 5 introduced. And I had no problem with them making Laurie his sister in the 2nd film.

I think it looks good, but haven't they basically just remade H20? I mean maybe there's more to it, but the trailers certainly don't imply that.

@RorMachine - Yeah I see the similarities between this and H20. Like the time gap, and the hunter becoming the hunted. But like you said, there's WAY more to it lol
After watching this trailer, I'm excited for this. It's a beautiful looking film as well. Props to David Gordon Green 👍

@RorMachine - In an odd way, this film reminds me of Scream 4. It's rebooting the franchise while also being a sequel. It's a direct sequel to the original. Laurie in this seems to be shifting from Final Girl to the role that Dr. Loomis played in the original.
Either way, I'm very excited for this film.

@MrCamw1 - haha, Halloween 3 has nothing to do with Michael Myers... the movie exists, but its not in the Michael Myers franchise.
