"What is it you pray for?"
After some teasing glimpses of Jamie Clayton as the new Pinhead, Hulu has finally unveiled a full trailer for the upcoming Hellraiser reimagining, and the footage gives us a much better idea of what to expect from this latest take on Clive Barker's terrifying tale.
The Sense8 star taking over the role of the Hell Priest has surprised some, due in part to the fact that Pinhead was played by Doug Bradley in the original movie, but the character was actually written as androgynous in Barker's original The Hellbound Heart novella.
The teaser begins with Goran Visnjic's character encouraging an unfortunate young man to solve a revamped Lament Configuration Box. When a spike shoots out and draws some blood, The Cenobites come to collect. We then get quick glimpses of Pinhead and some of her sadistic pals as they begin to torment our new protagonist, Riley (Odessa A'Zion).

Barker's 1987 adaptation of his own novella introduced one of cinema's most recognizable and enduring movie monsters in Pinhead, the leader of a group of demonic beings known as Cenobites. The movie went on to achieve cult status, spawning multiple inferior sequels, a short-lived TV series, comic books, and more.
Specific details on this new version are still few and far between, but director David Bruckner recently gave us a better idea of what to expect. "It's the tale of a young woman, who's struggling with addiction and compulsive behavior, that comes in contact accidentally with the box and unfortunately begins to dabble with it. And chaos ensues."
The movie also stars Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why, Ratched,) Drew Starkey (Outer Banks, Love, Simon,) Adam Faison (Everything’s Gonna Be Okay, Into the Dark), Aoife Hinds (Normal People, Anne Boleyn,) and Hiam Abbass (Blade Runner 2049, Succession).
Hellraiser is set to premiere on October 7.
