THE GRAVEYARD FEEDER
A Short Film By Rich Robinson
Starring Sean Bridgers

Doom was pleasantly surprised to discover a link to a new short film in his yahoo mailbox (quick note to whomever has the yahoo IDs “TheRealDoctorDoom” “DoctorVictorVonDoom” and “IAMDOOM” should they be reading – DOOM WILL NOT REST UNTIL HE HAS TRACKED DOWN AND DESTROYED ALL THOSE THAT WOULD DARE TO IMPERSONATE DOOM!). The short is written, directed and co-produced by Rich Robinson. Called THE GRAVEYARD FEEDER, it follows what seems to be a day in the, rather unusual, life of a graveyard groundskeeper.

DOOM was most impressed by the shorts' production values, including the make up F/X, all of which are top notch. The direction of the piece is also quite good. In fact, the visual storytelling as a whole is on a level superior to many of the full length films DOOM has seen recently.

Sean Bridgers plays the main character of the piece, and delivers quite an endearing performance. DOOM has seen Bridgers in other, supporting parts before this, but the combination of the role and Robinson's direction really bring out a level of charisma in Bridgers which DOOM had not previously realized he was capable of.

Really, the only thing DOOM found lacking in the short film was some of the dialogue, which fell a little flat at times, in DOOM’s opinion. Other than that small complaint, however, this is a fun, high quality short film well worth taking the time to seek out and give a watch to, and which certainly achieves its' aim of whetting one's appetite for a feature length version.

A feature length version which, according to the director, has Angela Bettis and Bill Oberst Jr. attached to star. If the same high quality production values, solid F/X and excellent acting, directing and editing can be combined with a slightly tighter script, than DOOM thinks it has the potential to be a real cult classic.
