I would have thought it would be another couple of months, at least, until we saw this. But here it is! Looks pretty sweet to me. Can't wait till May 2010.

In Iron Man 2, the scarlet and golden-metaled hero must face an adversary with some amazing gadgets of his own.

Whiplash (Mickey Rourke) sports a power pack on his chest that looks similar to the one that Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) uses.

"The technologies are definitely related," says director Jon Favreau. "That's part of the core theme of the film."

The villain's alter ego, Ivan Vanko, is a Russian who "has constructed his own version of a suit," Favreau says. Among the creative innovations: a pair of whips, powered by the suit's glowing chest piece, that are expected to keep Iron Man cracking.

Holy crap this looks like crap, also looks like he can barley reach the whips in that pic. I guess to say it looks like crap is a low blow, it does look like a new real version of the suit, and they cant help that the comic book version looked gay.

@longbowhunter if he is im on whiplashes side then hahahaha the crashes are the only good part of nascar.....imaginie whiplash messin up some cars goin triple digit speeds

dont forget even if it is the prototype theres probally gonna be cgi shit added...member all the pics of RDJ in the iron man suit and he only has little parts on there deff gonna be some sick effects added...btw check out the ink all over him..bad ass

Most likely a early prototype. Looks cool. He looks badass with the tattoos and the guy is in shape. I bet he kicks Iron Man's ass in their first encounter.

Besides that, am I the only person that when looking at that picture of Mickey, all gritty and sweaty, thought that probably he stinks to high heaven of man-sweat?

Fearless, I think you have a most capricious taste that seems to be prohibitive to delight. The Iron Man movie was an excellent film. The vox populi of this forum seem to be in accord respecting the movie's good quality.

I thin he looks ok staying true to the comic and all, but they might have want to upgrade it to the version of whiplash in the animated series, he looked badass red and black

This is obviously an early pic from when WHIPLASH first obtains his technology. The Armor will come later. (I hope.)

I'm not judging; it's too early for that.

But to see RDJ and ROURKE butt-heads as hero and villian alone, is gonna be somethin' else! :)

Let me guess. Whiplash comes up with this tech by himself who then teams up with Hammer who is trying to compete with tony. Hammer gets Black Widow to use her sweet ass to infiltrate and then steal Tony's Iron Man plans (haha) completing whiplashes exoskeleton and becoming crimson dynamo like someone else said up there.

the suit gettup itself looks to be ok, but i really like how rourke himself looks. Really convincing that he is a russian inmate. the tats are sweet and he looks gritty and nasty--cool

grif, it is effortlessly discernible that the suit Mickey is sporting is merely a prototype ensemble. Most likely, as the film progresses, he will don a more exhilarating attire.
