Oh hai there! It's time for another ranking post and this time I'm diving into the franchise that is Iron Man! This list will probably get a lot of jeers in the comment section below but I am anticipating it with great ease! Does that make sense? No? Alright then let's get started anyway.
3. Iron Man 3
I didnt like this movie for one simple reason.....Iron Man loses his armor & powers midway through the film and doesnt get them back until the very end. Why is Tony Stark babysitting a child essentially for some of it? I understand it's one of the kids in Jurassic World (and even then he's still annoying as hell but at least he's tolerable in this film) but I dont care. I cant find a reason to care when a billionaire is in the middle of bumf*ck nowhere in Tennessee. I also threw my hands up in the air at how they made the decoy for the Mandarin this badass terrorist who messed a lot of shit up only to be some....guy....that was just there. The only redeeming quality of this movie was the ending where the Legion shows up and Pepper turns into some kind of fiery rage monster.
The film that started it all and showed how Tony Stark became Iron Man. Stane, Tony Stark's partner is the main villain in this film after Tony tells him he doesnt want to make weapons anymore after being kidnapped and forced to make a missile by terrorists. That's twice Tony Stark has had to contend with a terrorist, and this time his own partner wants to take everything away from him! Did I mention that Stane was in with the terrorist group? That's gotta be rough. This also starts the love angle between Tony and Pepper and I just sigh at this crap. It's the same way in horror movies as well, but I'll get into that another time. This was kinda rough to get through BUT I mentioned to do it!
This one deals with...you got it....TERRORISTS!!!! Sorta. In this film is a rogue Russian scientist by the name of Ivan Vanko that wants to crush our dear hero Tony Stark by developing the same technology on account of an old grudge with the family. There's also Hammer, who's just..there..and is background fodder for Vanko's evil rampage. This is also the setup for the Avengers as Black Widow is in the film and if you werent really paying attention, you would figure she's just there as Pepper's assistant, who by the way is now in charge of STARK Industries. Tony's reactor in his chest is also slowly killing him and that's a bummer. This movie is awesome because Vanko is easily the best villain of this trilogy by far, and he also wants his bird. Why hasnt anyone given this man his damn bird yet?
If you love Iron Man then marathon these movies as much as possible. If you dont, then give them a chance anyway. They're good popcorn movies if you dont care for the story. Hopefully we'll get a 4th one down the line and it doesnt include the little black girl that all of a sudden became Iron Man in the comics.
