WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!

In the movie companion 'Kick-Ass: Creating the Comic, Making the Movie' Millar let slip a pretty big revelation when he discussed the direction that that character of Kick-Ass will take in both the comic and potential movie sequel:

"One of my favourite ideas in superhero comics is the exposure of the secret identity... I like the idea of doing that to somebody like Kick-Ass, who's going to have real-world ramifications if his secret identity gets exposed. I wanted that in the first volume but there was just no room, so I shifted it all into the second volume."

In the book, the comic book writer also hints at the future for Kick-Ass's friend-turned-foe, Red Mist:

"Red Mist surviving, becoming the super-villain was always planned, but the idea was that he was going to be a more minor character in the first film. Then we saw what Christopher Mintz-Plasse was capable of! Also, I really like the idea of somebody who people were relaxed watching on screen doing horrible things... the second movie, it's going to get very, very dark what goes on with him."

"So the idea of McLovin' and the fun Red Mist doing something horrible is genuinely quite disturbing when you see it happen. We couldn't have got away with that with another actor. The minute we saw his performance, we were looking at each other and realised how good he was and what we could do with him in the future..."

Kick-Ass: Creating the Comic, Making the Movie is available now from all good book stores while the movie hits UK screens on March 31 and worldwide in early April.

The book was amazing and the movie looks like it's shaping up to be just as good if not better! These sound like some brilliant ideas for the sequel! :)

Kind of a spoiler for the people who haven't read KA yet. The whole "hiding his identity from the world" thing reminds me a bit of Dexter season 2. I like it. This movie is getting closer and closer. I know it wont disappoint.

I wasn't going to read this with the spoilers attached to it but I had to.

Good find Josh.

Cool thing about any Millar project is we'll always have plenty of interviews.

I think the tunk is the bottom part of your ass where it shelves in. Sounds painful. LOL

tea: Same here - it was brilliant but after seeing the trailers I thought it would be slightly different! I just hope that the movie doesnt change too much because there's a lot in there that wasnt in the book! And yeah, it was out of stock almost as quickly as it appeared on both Amazon and other sites like Waterstones! I'm glad you managed to pick up a copy!
