More From Chloe Moretz On Playing Hit Girl In Kick Ass

There's not a lot of new movie information here, I just think its interesting listening to such a young girls take on playing such a violent, controversial character..

“I’ve been trained since I was a baby to be this crazy assassin girl,” Moretz told MTV of Hit-Girl, who she hopes to reprise in sequels. “What I like about the character is that she’s an assassin, but at the same time she is still just an 11-year-old girl. She doesn’t know any better; it’s just how she was raised.”

In the interview, Moretx tells MTV about that infamous scene from the trailer in which Hit Girl dispatches quite a few bad guys..quite violently.

“It was absolutely amazing, and probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life,” she explained. “It was four months-plus training. Learning how to roll, how to jump over barriers and land on your shoulder. I actually came home one day, and I had a big bruise all the way down my back!”

“It was really fun to do. I learned how to take apart a gun, put it back together, clean it, but they’d never let me touch a gun [unless] I checked it first, made sure it was a fake bullet; if it was supposedly clear, I had to check it to [confirm] that it was clear.”

“While I was shooting the movie, even though I thought I knew [all the moves], it was still really hard to do,” she said of the film’s intricately-constructed fight scenes “Because you had to think about acting, and choreography of the scene. So, I’m going to have to be running and jumping and shooting in mid-air, while also thinking about my face and not [counting down the steps] like ‘1…2…3..oh no, I just said it!’ Trying to remember the steps: left foot, then right foot, then jump. That was really confusing.”

Apparently Moretz's father is a huge comic book fan, and she brought him to the set one day..

“I actually have a really, really hilarious story. My Dad is an Eagle Scout, and he carries a little pocket knife on him all the time,” explained Moretz. “Nic, he likes Red Bull, and he was drinking a Red Bull one day but couldn’t open it. He tried to pop the can, but the little tab fell off.”

“So, my Dad says ‘I can open that for you!’ yanks out his Leatherman and flips it open. He says ‘Here give me the can!’ and [sticks his knife in the top],” she laughed. “Pop! It spews everywhere! It exploded — it was so funny. But Nic is such a nice guy, he took the can and drank it anyway.”

“I was like ‘Wow, Dad!, I just want to crawl under a rock and hide right now!’”

After reading this I had a vision of Nic Cage wiping red bull from his face and giving Moretz's Dad his best Bad Lieutenant stare!

I have to agree with you guys - Cage is a great actor! I'm not sure that he was the best choice to play Ghost Rider but he was probably the only thing that saved that movie from being as bad as something like Fantastic Four! :P

@ Ror, UKboy and Josh: I really like Cage too. I have never been able to understand why so many people are down on him.

ukboy28 - 1/21/2010, 10:36 AM
darth@ me either, dont get me wrong he's done some bad movies but imo his good totally out weighs the bad, face/off, leaving las vegas and raising arizona are three of my favs.

@ UK: He's been in quite a few stinkers, that's for sure. I just saw one last week (Bangkok Dangerous) but he himself did just fine. I try my best never to blame bad storytelling or bad writing on the actor.

Taking a role in a bad movie is no reflection on the man's talent
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 1/21/2010, 10:43 AM
Cage has such unique quirks that no matter what he plays he is just a different aspect of himself in every role, ala DeNiro, Pacino.
I happen to love his movies.

Dogs & tyco: Glad I'm not alone. I caught the first two episodes last week by accident and could not stop laughing.
Dogs: Your absolutely right, the dialogue is out of this world.
I usually don't like this type of show either but this one is a major exception.
Can't wait to see tonights episodes.

georgia49th- YES!!!! I agree entirely!!! RedBull tastes like SHIT!!! In fact, i'm sure actual shit tastes better. Has anyone actualy tasted shit??? I like cheese even if it smells like fart! You never know... but Red Bull is godawful!!!

This girl is awesome!!!

As for Cage well... most of his films that i've hated were where the film itself wasn't interesting enough and all that was left was his face and his overacting. But i did love City of Angels and that's really something since i can't stand Meg Ryan and Cage will never be part of my favorite actors. He was ASTOUNDING in Family Man, one of my favorite family films. I enjoyed him in Con Air oddly enough. He was good in The Rock but way over shadowed by the greats, Ed Harris & Sean Connery. Hell, even Micheal Biehn was better. In Face Off, i liked the movie but not Cage. That movie was everything it was because of Travolta IMO. And oddly again, he was very good in Wicker Man even though the film wasn't. He sucked in Gone In 60 Seconds but the movie wasn't that bad. Thanks to Chi and Duvall. The rest just didn't snag my attention enough to overcompansate his face and over acting. But there are many of his films that i haven't seen as well. Raising Arizona? Hated it. Not my thang.

Dogs- That last image was priceless!!! I would so randomly create awkward moments of silence just to laugh my ass off!!! LMAO :P
