New KICK-ASS, HIT-GIRL And KINGSMAN Movies On The Way From Matthew Vaughn's Marv Studios

Director Matthew Vaughn is in the process of setting up a new studio, and he's confirmed to Empire that a reboot of Kick-Ass, a solo Hit-Girl flick and at least 2 more Kingsman projects are in the works...

We'be heard whispers of a Kick-Ass reboot from writer Mark Millar in the past, but Matthew Vaughn has now confirmed that he'll be revisiting the characters first introduced in his 2010 adaptation via his new studio.

Vaughn revealed to Empire that he's planning a new Kick-Ass movie (most likely featuring Patience Lee under the mask), along with a solo Hit-Girl outing which will either focus on an older Mindy Macready, or flashback to her younger years growing up under the tutelage of Big Daddy.

But that's not all. In addition to another Kingsman movie which would cap-off the "Harry Hart-Eggsy relationship" trilogy, there's a spinoff titled Kingsman: The Great Game, an eight-hour TV show, and a Statesman film in the works.

That's quite a lot to take in! Be sure to let us know what you think of these developments in the comments below.

Vaughn really likes Miller's work.

Hopefully future Kingsman movies are more like the first than the second. Kingsman 2 sucked.

Hmmm, I'm all for more Kingsman if its more like the first than the second movie. But rebooting Kick-Ass? Wait a bit more before doing that.

What a crazy coincidence… I just re-watched kick ass a few days ago! Hit-girl really stole the show. And I know it's crazy but I just watched the second Kingsmens movie this past weekend for the first time. I thought it was a lot better than I expected due to the fan reaction at the time. I'm up for all this!

It's way too soon to reboot Kick-Ass, especially with the new one. If they're not going to do a Kick-Ass 3 though, frankly I'd be happier if this series was just left where it is.

@Christuffer - I totally agree. Why re-boot it? the 2nd one wasn't that great but the 1st one was awesome and its been less than 10 yrs

@narrow290 - I liked the second one, so we differ on that, but I'm with you on the time. A reboot in less than ten years? Bit crazy. We don't want to just invalidate the original one.

Nobody is going to see Kick Ass if its the neck Kick Ass, Hit Girl people might see, but they should really try to get Chloe back, Kingsman, people may see that. But why not do some of his other stuff

Why do we even need these films? On one hand they could be good, but on the other hand, they're completely unnecessary...

I wish they'd adapt a property that hasn't been done on the big screen yet. Oh well.

Would rather Vaughn focus his energy elsewhere.
Kick-Ass 1 was great.
Kick-Ass 2 was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.
Kingsman 1 & 2 were passable (IMO).

I just dont really care about those franchises anymore.

Vaughn should do Superman, or Millar’s Jupiter’s Legacy, or Millar’s Nemesis, or do an original project.

@ELAYEM - One of the worst you've ever seen? Why?

@Christuffer - I dont remember specifically, I havent seen it since it came out, but I remember writing and dialogue so awful it would make soap operas cringe.

@BlindWedjat - That is really sad! It is weird because you would think he had the best job ever created. Becoming a celebrity by being paid extremely well to travel the world and eat at restaurants.

Not really into any more of these... certainly not more Kick-Ass stuff.

I just saw James Gunn’s Super recently... it’s easy to see why Kick-Ass got the mainstream attention over it, but Super’s ending certainly left more of an impression on me.

I want a reboot of Wanted with Halle Berry.

In addition to a TV Show Kick-Ass, in the universe Kick-Ass, but without Kick-Ass.

There are more heroes in the city and everyone has a story.

It hate the MATV title card. For me it's just a bunch of colored dots on a screen

How are they going to top that Hit-Girl moment in the first Kick-Ass? I don't think they can.
