Anne Rice, the author that has brought intrest back to "vampires" with her "Vampire Chronicles" series of books and spawned the movies Interview with the Vampire and Queen of the Damned will be getting her own comic book biography to be done by Bluewater Productions. They have already focused on other literary authors Stephenie Meyer, J.K. Rowling and Charlaine Harris. In an interesting twist, though, there will be a vamp that is intervewing her!

Louie Demartinis is doing both the cover and inside art while Scott Davis will be doing the actual writing.

“Anne Rice's uniquely gothic, sensuous, and existential approach redefined the modern vampire mythology,” said issue author Scott Davis. “She advanced the vampire literary genre more than anyone since Bram Stoker.”

There will be two covers.

Here are some sample images of the actual comic.

If you're interested look for it in June.

*Sigh* Unfortunately, I'll buy this ONLY for comic book pics of her vampires (and hopefully Sleeping Beauty, wink wink). Other than that, Rice is a sell out.

I dig the Louie DemMrtinis art tho. It reminds me of classic Vertigo, with a little modern detail thrown in for good measure. Has anyone read any of these Female Force books? Not to sound too geeky, but do I like the idea of non-fic comics that are actually done well...

Also, check out the painted 'The Vampire Lestat' comic if you want to see a decent comic version of one of her books. It looks pretty good... if only Bolton could have painted the whole thing, and not just the cover! Still, Gross did a nice job.
