2012 was a great year for Comic Book Movies and other types of genres from all over. Here is my personal list for my top ten movies of 2012! Enjoy!

Number Ten:

21 Jump Street starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill DEFINITELY surprised me. I went into this film (technically dragged) thinking it was going to be a dumb Jonah Hill movie with him talking about sucking some dudes junk the whole time (which in every movie he says that stupid line about not wanting to but he will if he has to) but I walked out crying of laughter because it was so funny. I haven't laughed so hard in a movie before. The story itself WAS dumb, but who went into it expecting the Godfather?

Number Nine:

Red Dawn starring Chris Hemsworth and Josh Peck was a very exciting movie for me to watch. Seeing how the world is in an economic debt, this movie did seem realistic to a sense. The combined force of the Koreans and Russians against America without the help of its own military is a scary thought. The action scenes were really exciting to watch and although the acting was a little over the top at parts, the true star of the movie was Chris Hemsworth, but he is amazing at any movie he is in.

Number Eight:

Chronicle starring Dane De Haan, Michael B. Jordan, and Alex Russel was a very fun and original movie. I loved the transitions of some of the characters, and who doesn't like a great super power movie. I thought the director Josh Trank did such a good job, I am so excited for his Fantastic Four reboot.

Number Seven:

Total Recall starring Collin Farell and Jessica Biel was very entertaining to me and I really enjoyed the take on the movie. I enjoyed the futuristic tone, the characters, and the situation itself. I think the film could of used a little more explaining concerning the Rekall itself, but it did a fine job telling it. I got a sense of I, Robot throughout the movie which is alright but I almost called it I, Robot 2 when I was done watching it. Besides those little gripes I did really enjoy the movie.

Number Six:

Looper starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis is one of the most complicated YET intriguing sci-fi time travel movies yet. The story may be confusing at times, but it clears up soon after. The story was so original, which is great for a change. The acting was very good, and the make-up used on JGL to look like a younger Bruce Willis may have been distracting at first, but it seems to lose that distraction after a while. The futuristic element seemed, well futuristic yet modern all at the same time.

Number Five:

The Dark Knight Rises starring Christian Bale and Tom Hardy is my personal favorite out of the whole trilogy. It had a sense of urgency to it that the other ones didn't seem to have in my opinion. The story I thought was really good and I loved how the events of the last movie affected this movie as a whole. I loved all the new characters and I thought the action pieces were amazing. My only true problem with the movie was Batman himself. IN MY OPINION, he did nothing the whole movie except being contained in the Lazarus Pit Prison. Unless that was the intention of the whole thing, to show the city is it's own hero, then they did a good job.

Number Four:

End of Watch starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña is a perfect example of how you can make a perfect buddy-cop movie, have a great plot, and amazing characters. There were times in this movie that had me on the edge of my seat because of the events that were happening. The action was excellent, the story was fantastic, but the real winning point of this movie was the chemistry between the two main leads, so much that it landed in my number four spot.

Number Three:

The Avengers starring a fantastic ensemble from the likes of Robert Downey Jr. all the way to Samuel L. Jackson landed my number three spot. This film was just amazing. It had some of the best action scenes I had ever seen in a movie, and having all those heroes with different capabilities and personalities on one screen was just awesome. I do feel the film slowed down a bit halfway through and some actors weren't given enough to work with (Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye), but this film was nonetheless amazing. The visual effects in this film were so lifelike and at times I felt they actually had a real Iron Man suit flying through the air and an actual Hulk on the screen with them. Simply amazing.

Number Two:

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey starring Martin Freeman and Sir Ian Mckellen is my second favorite movie of 2012. I will admit, I DID GET BORED IN SOME PLACES, but overall the way they adapted it from the book, the characters, and even the new lead was just fantastic. The action was amazing, visual effects outstanding, and the cinematography flawless. I did feel the film was lacking something (which I can't put my finger on) which held it back from being in my number one spot.

Number One:

The Amazing Spider-Man starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone is hands down my favorite movie of 2012. I just love Spider-Man and he is my favorite super hero. Since I have only seen one thing starring Andrew Garfield (Social Network) I didn't have much to go on to judge his performance. In my opinion he made the movie. The action, interaction with the characters, and the story was very impressive to me. This movie to me was, well, AMAZING!

Red Dawn and Total Recall were horrible, and TASM wasn't amazing at all. Not much diversity in your reviews for the movies themselves, but, as you said, that's just my opinion.
