Zoe Saldana plays Neytiri, the Na'Vi female who shows the films protagonist, Jake(voiced and played by Sam Worthington), the ways and traditions of the Na'Vi people, and the potential threat posed to the Na'Vi by the recently arrived humans.

James Cameron's Avatar opens everywhere December 18th. While on August 21st, dubbed "Avatar Day", select movie theaters will be screening 15 minutes of the film, while also the first trailer will be released online that day.

ill get more excited when i know someithing about it. voicing AND playing? what the hell does that mean? is it gonna be like beowulf? its all too wierd and secretive for me.

yeah superdog i suppose he meant that. I am not very sure about this movie´s ad campaing.. 15 minutes for free?? is it REALLY neccesary to hype the movie?

i mean, general public and fans only need the 2 1/2 minutes of any given trailer for movies like Iron Man, Star Trek, Transformers etc to make you GO CRAZY about them.. this means AVATAR is not well established among pop-culture, i suppose.

@ superdog, when i said voicing and playing their doing both, their voicing but also the actual actor is the base for the CG model of the avatars and the Na'Vi.

at SDCC Zoe Saldana said it was the most physical role shes done, and she had to work out like crazy, even though her character is CGI.
