Stephen Fry of V For Vendetta fame, the only film I have ever seen him him in, recently had an interview with Scott Huver on the much anticipated sequel.

"I play Mycroft, Sherlock Holmes' brother - the smarter brother, I hasten to add. He's so lazy that he never gets the reputation that Sherlock does. Historically it's a very interesting character, and as a lover of Sherlock Holmes since I was a boy I've always enjoyed that character myself. I hope that people enjoy it. It's certainly been fun making the picture. I'm on it until January and it's really been fun."

Fry's also a fan of director Guy Richie's inventive reinterpretation of Holmes-ian lore.

"It's what's known in the Sherlock business as noncanonical. It's not based on the books, it's based on the idea of the characters and the relationships, and I love the way that Guy uses the camera. I love the fluency and speed and the wit and the drive of it. It's not exactly Steampunk, but there's a very 21st century angle on Victorian England. And I love the tweeds and the fact that it was Sherlock Holmes, but it managed to escape the Greek tradition. Which of us doesn't love Basil Rathbone and Jeremy Brett, in particular those two, but he's the kind of character that will be done in 200 years time. They'll be making hologram movies of Sherlock Holmes. He'll never die. He's an imperishable figure. So each age will remake him in their own image, if you like and I like what Guy did. He's very filmic."

On Robert Downey, Jr., playing Sherlock...
"To some extent, but he's such a charismatic and likeable screen presence, Robert, that you very soon forget it. More than most, he owns every second of screen time. He's just wonderfully likeable. He's the real thing.

Sherlock Holmes 2, also starring Jude Law, Noomi Rapace and Jared Harris, is scheduled to hit theaters on December 16, 2011.

The first was pretty good. I'm pumped for this one!

Does anyone know if Rachel McAdams is coming back?

Nothing against Jared Harris (who by the way is the son of great Richard Harris), but im still hoping that Daniel Day-Lewis or Gary Oldman would takeover Moriarty´s role! WHY?!... Because its just that famous and legendary character, that i think someone famous and legendary actor should play him!
Someone who just gives you chills everytime, when you hear his characters name!

Everytime i heard Voldemort´s name in Harry Potter it gave me chills and finally when he show up and Ralph Fiennes was playing him. It was so f*cking awesome. God that thrill!

I think if someone more unknown actor would have played Voldemort, it wouldnt have been so thrilling.

@MrMurdock: Not sure about Rachel McAdams, but I've not heard anything about her and this movie.

@AlexDeLarge666: I trust Guy Ritchie's choices, I was really hoping for Oldman or Day-Lewis, like you. But, who knows? Maybe Jared Harris will be the best villain ever. When they announced Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort, I was a bit skeptical. But he turned out to be the best fit for the role. And, let's not forget Heath Ledger. How man people, when they heard he was to be The Joker thought, "What a terrible idea." But he turned out to be great. I'm stoked for this movie, and loved the first one.

Jake Overton@ Yeah im sure Harris definitely shows his skills in the role!... No doubt on that!...

But still... Its Oldman and Day-Lewis we are talking about here!... I mean [frick]ing Oldman and Day-Lewis man!... How awesome that would have been?!:D... Downey Jr. and Law Vs. Oldman or Day-Lewis!... God it just gives me chills when i even think about it!:D

I <3 Stephen Fry. The first one was good enough as a fun action movie.

@AlexDeLarge666: Definately, but I think I'd like to see Day-Lewis more. Oldman is in a lot of things, but we rarely see Day-Lewis. Both are BRILLIANT actors.

I think what I dug most about the first was Ritchie's take on how "Holmes" plans his attack. I think that was awesome. It really seemed like that would be "Holmes'" thought process in real life.
