A sad day for film and television fans as it has been announeced David Warner has died. The British character was best remembered for turns in The Omen, Titantic (1997), Time After Time, Tron, Time Bandits and his many appearances across the Star Trek franchise such as Star Trek V: The Final Frontier and VI: The Undiscovered Country and Star Trek: The Next Generation.

He was lauded on stage early in his career for his turn as Hamlet in a 1965 production and was BAFTA nominated for Best Leading for his lead role in Morgan: A Suitable Case For Treatment.

Comic book fans will remember his voice work as Ra's Al Ghul in Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond as well as Superman: The Animated Series. He also appeared in the film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Secret Of The Ooze as Professor Jordan Petty. He was also in Spider-Man: The Animated Series as Dr. Herbert Landon and played Jor-El in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman. He also dabbled in superhero comedy as The Lobe in Freakazoid. Other cartoon roles included a one off in the Iron Man Animated Series, Gargoyles and The Grim Adventures Of Billy And Mandy.

Late in his career he was among the many actors to join the Doctor Who franchise, first as a voice in the animated serial Dreamland and later in an on screen role in the main series in the episode ''The Cold War''. He would later would join the Big Finish Audio Dramas in many roles including an alternate Doctor named ''The Unbound Doctor''. He was recently announced to be returning to Finish as part of their celebration of the 60th Anniversary where he'll star alongside Christopher Eccleston's Ninth Doctor who recently revealed his involvement and expressed his joy with working with the actor.

He covered many genres and did them all with the same attitude and was always good no matter what. Our condolences to his family which include his children, partner Lisa Bowerman (Who starred as his companion Bernice Summerfield in the aforemntioned Big Finish Audio Dramas) and the many who knew him. RIP.

Aw man, RIP, brilliant actor, was amazing in his multiple Star Trek roles, loved him in that Doctor Who episode with the Ice Warriors, and he was the definitive Ra's Al Ghul in Batman TAS, his voice was amazing, plus he was great as Herbert Landon and as MCP in Tron

Ultimately disappointed, because I always hoped they would get him into The Mandalorian, get him the trifecta of iconic sci-fi roles, but too late now

RIP

Probably not the highlight of his career but I loved him in Secret of the Ooze.
