Denis Villeneuve's Dune continues to perform very well at the box office despite being available to watch from home on HBO Max, and has now passed the $300 million mark globally.

The movie, which boasts and all-star cast including Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet, is closing in on $230 million overseas, and has taken in around $71 million domestically.

“We are so thrilled that this one-of-a-kind cinematic experience has movie lovers — as well as lifelong fans of the book, like Denis Villeneuve himself — eager to see Dune as he envisioned it: on the biggest possible screen," said Jeff Goldstein, President of Warner Bros Pictures Domestic Distribution. "These terrific numbers, coupled with A- CinemaScore and a Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, show the film delivers and that audiences are going back for multiple viewings.”

Andrew Cripps, President of Warner Bros Pictures International Distribution, adds: “From our first international opening in September, we could see that Dune was both a critical and crowd pleaser. The numbers have continued to bear that out as each market has opened and we look forward to a healthy theatrical play, with Australia and New Zealand yet to come as we head into the holidays.”

There were initial concerns that the cerebral sci-fi adaptation might struggle to find an audience, thus jeopardizing any sequel plans. However, Warner Bros./Legendary recently announced that Dune: Part Two is officially in development, and is set to hit theaters in 2023.

Yusss!
The movie deserves to be such a hit. While it does have it's problems they're only surface level issues a sequel can easily undo.
Can't wait to see Part 2 and hope we'll see all books get adapted into movies.

Man, feels great to exist in the world at the same time as this film.

Have seen it three times on the big screen already, currently planning the fourth.

Also, go and pay to watch Titane. My other favorite film of the year.
