Even though there have been countless Godzilla titles in recent years with plenty more on the horizon, fans would be remiss to forget the origins of the towering terror and November 3rd is the perfect time to revisit those as it serves as Godzilla Day 2023.

Retreading the success from 2022's Godzilla Day Marathon, Shout! TV is at it again, bringing John Carpenter to the screen to host another day filled with monster movies and giving Goji his time to shine. The King of Monsters has plenty to celebrate with projects like Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, Godzilla: Minus One, and Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire on the horizon, but John Carpenter is here to remind fans of the stories that have unfolded in the monsterverse this far with hand-picked tales of the tall terror airing all day long on Godzilla Day, November 3rd, 2023.

The marathon kicks off Godzilla Day right at midnight with none other than Godzilla King of the Monsters and runs nonstop with titles such as Destroy All Monsters, Son of Godzilla, Rodan, The War of the Gargantuas, and even Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla. Featuring ten titles in all, each handpicked by the legendary John Carpenter himself and with commentary by special guests, the day is set to feature plenty for monster lovers and those who flock to celebrate the reign of Godzilla on his special day this year.

We've included the full press release, which features the entire list and times of the programming for Godzilla Day 2023 below, and make sure to check out the trailer for the Masters of Monsters event below, stopping as always to share your thoughts in the comments section with whether you will be tuning in this year and which title you are most excited to revisit.

My old man has a channel that plays Godzilla and old monster movies fairly often (just saw night of the demon on it and it is still the chef’s kiss) and with the exception godzilla vs mothra all these movies are the same ones they always play…

Idk why they never put the smog monster or the sea monster on or better yet why they never put the heisei era films on. Maybe they know my ass wouldn’t leave the chair if they did that lol but overall if you get a chance to check out some of the classics then definitely do it!

Also Godzilla va megalon project from Gen stone is also coming out this year and it looks glorious!

Also a little off topic but some early reviews from Japanese audiences have come in for Godzilla minus one calling great yet incredibly sad and this guy basically reviewed a few of the same ones I saw

Also test screenings of Godzilla x kong the new empire came back mostly positive however it does sound like we’re in for a goofy tone movie and Godzilla is sidelined for kong again.
