Conceptual illustrator, Tim Flattery, sent us two pieces of concept art that he created for Jose Padilha's RoboCop. They're designs for the bike, which ended up being a modified Kawasaki Ninja. Plus, two developmental sketches that artist Keron Grant did for the film.

In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy (Kinnaman) is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex's life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

RoboCop will be directed by Jose Padilha and star Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) in the lead role of Alex Murphy/Robocop. The film also stars: Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Kenneth Williams, Jennifer Ehle, Jay Baruchel and Abbie Cornish. The remake will be in theaters February 12th, 2014

The movie's pretty good. Really suprised by how much I liked it. I didn't grow up with the original Robocop so I don't have the same nostalgic factor. I think that it's a shame for it o be doing so bad.

the movie is good, not great, still one of the better remakes out there.
well, it's more a reboot than a remake, but still.
I'd say it's worth a watch. I don't know why some people are being so harsh on this movie when they clearly haven't seen it.

Art!
The bike was pretty sick. I always thought it was weird seeing Robocop driving a normal car.

Sid- Haha, yeah.. more than a few times in the past few months. I don't even care if I like it or not..

I mean, I love her.. but it's the principle of the thing, dammit. My turn, babe, MY TURN!! Eh, what am I saying, it's my own fault for not being able to say no.

@ yossarian

I thought it was gonna suck to but it was actualy prety good. It felt like a Metal Gear Solid movie and Robocop was Raiden without the blade. Sam Jackson made the movie for me. It was like some one combined Bill O'Reilly and Wolf Blitzer and put them in Sam Jackson's body.

why blackk.. why black.. silver suit is much better but anyways I liked the film.. ending was just a bunch of lazy action of robocop jumping and hopping on the machines.. last scene could have been handled better..

Not to give anything away; but he doesn't actually have a human hand, actually the scientist that Gary Oldman plays did some pretty extensive surgery. I'm guessing the reason he made a hand that looked human was so that Alex Murphy could still have a sense of humanity and be more appealing to the public as well.

The movie is not bad at all. Definitely worth the price of admission. And the theater was packed; don't know who said it was flopping but a lot of people I know went to go see it. It's kind of hard to compare it to the original because they don't really have anything in common. Two completely different takes. I think the original had a little more of that shock factor but if I had to choose which one I'd rather see again if I had to pick I'm definitely going with the new one, easily ...and I grew up with the original.

The only part I disliked about the new one was the politicized ending based on some liberal soundbite. I also think it lacked a bit psychologically considering the guy lost his entire functioning body other than his head, heart, and lungs rendering him totally dependant on technology and the care of others in order to survive. That is a very hard pill for someone to swallow. He'll never have a normal life or be able to sleep with his wife, digest food normally, its a real eff'd up situation. Overall, I give it 3.5/5 stars. Side note: special effects were awesome. Just fyi.
