ROBOCOP Set Photos Feature Joel Kinnaman, Abbie Cornish And Futuristic Police Vehicles

Well, Sony have decided to cover up the new RoboCop's suit in these latest set photos, but we do still get a good look at Joel Kinnaman, not to mention Abbite Cornish and more of the futuristic police cars and motorcycles which will be used in the film.

Thanks to Just Jared, we have a few more photos from the set of José Padilha's remake of RoboCop featuring Joel Kinnaman as Alex Murphy and Abiie Cornish as his wife, Ellen. As you can see, the studio are now being far more careful by covering up Kinnaman as the titular character, although some would argue that it's now too late as many fans have already decided they won't like the film based on literally two set photos of the unfinished suit! Be sure to click on the link at the bottom of the page to view the rest of the photos.

In RoboCop, the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

Reminds me so much of Hayden Christensen! Arise lord RoboCop.

Is it just me or the suit below the robe has a different color scheme from the black one. Or maybe it's just the lighting.

IIRC this isn't the only version of Robocop that'll be in the film. I really hope this is like Robocop Alpha or something. Not a fan of the RoboBatman design.

Not too sure about this design, especially considering without the visor he looks like a necromancer from Riddick!!

Although i am interested to see what they do with the film, especially as they aren't killing Murphy, so he more the bionic man than the traditional robocop.

Saw the other BTS pics as well and not a fan of the rubber suit. I guess they are going more cyborg than robot. Guess we will know when he walks and after they add in visual and sound FX.

I liked how Weller's face looked attached in the original vs. this one looking like just a helmet.

I think the vehicles are kind of cool though (especially like the extended fender on cop car).

Also, "Abbite Cornish" and "Abiie Cornish" typos. "Sony have" should be "has" and "studio are" should "is."

I think the suit looks pretty cool, but it looks like exactly that: a suit. He doesn't look like a cyborg, just a guy in an armoured suit.

You people are funny with your overreacting.

I agree i too wouldnt have change the suit so drastically which true looks more like suit than a guy with a robot body. But lets face it. Its just a behind the scene picture.
I remember when i saw the picture of Dredd from the new movie the first time it didnt feel right at all. Or the picture of Heath Ledger as the Joker.

I for one will give this a chance. At least they are doing something different with it than most of the remakes.

people going on about oh it looks like batman robobat and all this rubbish by that thinking every charicter wearing a black outfit is coping batman which of course rubbish, thats like me saying oh the batman suit from tdk and tdkr is a copy of a motocross suit, oh its motocrossman batbike man, just shut up moaning and wait till the films comes out before you go on about it, the batsuit stole some many asspects from other places but it doesnt matter coz the movie rocks,

In a cynical future where budget is probably a big concern with Omnicorp's Robocop project, I actually like where this film is going. They've obviously decided not to copy or retread the original classic. So we could be seeing a psuedo beta test phase suit(the first mission suit). Think a T-800 under kevlar bi-weaves, etc. That's what I get from this. They are going more real world a la the Elite Squad films, so none of this worries me. Padhilla talking about only 1 in 10 of his ideas getting the okay from producers worries me most.
