I'm definitely warming up to this movie. I like the idea of the media being involved in policy (indirectly).

This looks like a bloody mess. Sorry, what I really meant was, this looks like a bloodless mess. "We're going to make a lot of money"? Highly doubt that. This will either flop hard or be on-par with Total Recall's less-than-stellar earnings. The intro to this video is silly because it feels like the director's trying too hard to inspire people to see the film just based off of what may happen with technology and warfare years from now (the new series Almost Human looks to be a much better depiction of that, and it even comes out before this uninspired reboot). Plus, that February release date isn't a great sign either. I have the lowest expectations for this film, while I'd love to have faith in it being good, from what I've seen so far, it doesn't look very good at all and it looks very overstuffed.

@ Godzillafart & Rormachine,

Bear in mind, there's a difference between "looks" and "is". None of us have seen the movie yet, so we don't know for certain the quality of it. But to me, the trailer looks pretty damn good. Of course, the movie might end up being a steaming pile of crap, but it could also end up being much better than the original. Sometimes, remakes ARE better.

How the hell does this trailer "look good"? Sure, it has a recognizable cast, but this looks like yet another film with pay-day, phoned-in performances from guys like Jackson, Oldman and Keaton, and it doesn't seem to have much in terms of a plot. It seems like they've just crammed in a lot to compensate for the fact that they really have nothing new to offer.
