In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy (Kinnaman) is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex's life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.



RoboCop will be directed by Jose Padilha and star Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) in the lead role of Alex Murphy/Robocop. The film also stars: Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Kenneth Williams, Jennifer Ehle, Jay Baruchel and Abbie Cornish. The remake will be in theaters August 9th, 2013.

@Craxycharliemma Ya agreed man, I wish they would have stuck with the Silver/Metallic Look. I am hoping that its black and they'll go over it with a metallic look in post production but who know...

Must say though that he does have the right pose when firing that gun in the pic above.

the helmet design definitely kicks ass. A well done upgrade. the rest of the suit is still iffy for me. i think it'll all depend on how it moves on screen. if it moves well it'll look great. if it doesn't then it'll look like doodoo lol

Not digging the black but that does look pretty cool! Maybe they went black because this is a different film than the '87's Robocop: paying respect to the first. Cue a series of these:


"..well if they want to respect it why don't they just not do it.., ugh, pointless remake ugh!!!"

I'm not a fan of the pointless remakes either, but this one could end up being really kickass, so I'll reserve it 'til I see more.., or perhaps the movie once it's out.

People who see similarities with the Dredd motorcycle need to check their eyes. Absolutely nothing in common. Dredd's motorcycle was like a wardrobe on two wheels.

I'm curious to hear how Kinnaman sounds after they manipulate his voice. Hopefully he doesn't sound like a kid with a vocoder Vader mask on.

Looks good to me! I love that helmet! It looks really cool. I also felt iffy about the black suit, I thought they'd leave it metallic, but I'm open to change. So far, thumbs up.

I'm liking the redesigns. This is one of those remakes that actually look better than the classics.

The suit looks like Iron Mans armor had been date raped by an Ipod, this is their love child...

I hope its good, I think the suit looks too much like a crappy halloween costume. The original had a kind of functional look about it, this does not. I'll watch the film and judge it by what happens, Im not superficial enough to not see something just because I dont like the look of the IRobocop! :)
