With nothing but praise coming from the press screening earlier this week, buzz it at an all time high for Matt Reeve's highly anticipated sequel. Now, via the Event Cinemas website, the running time has been revealed. Coming in at a satisfying 130 minutes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is due to release on July 9.

I hope this is true. I felt like the previous film was a little too short. Still great, but could've been better with more time. I'm really excited to see the sequel.

Ehh, I try not to care about Running Time as much. Just depends on pacing really. But still, this movie shall rule.

The running time is fine with me. All i care about is will this movie entertain me?

I loved Rise of the Apes, so yeah i'm looking forward to Dawn of the Apes.

@TheMexicanSuperman, SuperCat I used to hide it in my jacket but nowadays the folks at the theater don't even care if you bring in a bag to an IMAX screening. The runtime is about the same as DOFP, longer than 2 hours but not much. Just like the original Star Wars

I can't [frick]ing wait for this movie! It's gonna own. I'm so excited! I can't believe it's not gonna be in Imax here in Eugene OR. That [frick]ing sucks!

The first one was a very pleasant surprise, stealing the 'best film of the year' award (to me anyway) and this one looks to do the same. I can't wait to watch this. I was NEVER an Apes fan but Rise definitely turned me into one. I have been waiting for this film since I stepped out of that theater two years ago!
