Good movie for anyone who isn't a Trek Fan

I must admit, maybe I was expecting too much from the start, but I would grade the movie a "B" at best. This movie is probably best for anyone who doesn't know anything about Trek, or has heard of it, but still really has no clue about any of the series/movies.

I am a huge Trekkie from TOS and Next Gen, and you can definitely tell JJ has no idea about what Trek was in the past. It may also be that Orci and Kurtzman (writers) haven't see any of the Trek series/movies either. I'll buy the book this week and see who messed this up. Maybe that's the direction Paramount wants to go, and if they so choose, that's fine, I won't be watching the next one.

The whole movie doesn't feel like Trek at all, even tho they have some great casting... Bones, Scotty, Uhura, Spock, Sulu.... all great choices. I think Pine is okay but am totally confused about the Chekov casting.

Again, maybe I wanted and expected too much from this movie... I just walked out of the theater feeling a bit disappointed. For any trekkie, make no qualms about it... go and see it and judge for yourself.
