J.J. Abrahms has managed to do what no one has done before...at least in the last 8 years, release a Star Trek movie that is both new and exciting.

Star Trek is a faced paced, well written and acted wild ride from start to finish. Orci and Kurtzman's cleverly written script manages to manipulate the Star Trek timeline opening up a whole new universe for exploration. Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto both captured the essence of Kirk and Spock and play off each other extremely well. However it's Karl Urban's and Simon Pegg's perfomance as McCoy and Scotty that steals the show. Bruce Greenwood's portrayal of Chris Pike is well thought out and flares with the brilliant humor everyone loved in the original series. Anton Yelchin and John Cho round out the cast as Checkov and Sulu quite nicely. However it's Zoe Saldana's very sensual and no nonsence Uhura that lights up the screen whenever she appears. Actions great, cast is marvelous, script clever and fast paced, this movie should definately be seen by Trek fans and non fans alike. If possible in it's IMAX version. Oh did I forget to say that Leonard Nimoy's reprisal of Spock was brilliant.
