While discussing Mission: Impossible 5, which he said will be filmed in the UK, he added, “There’s a lot of big productions in the UK, maybe even Star Trek 3, there’s talk of filming here.”

If Star Trek 3 is filmed in the UK it will be a change for the franchise as both Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness were primarily filmed around Los Angeles.

I have to admit that I've only seen about 3 episodes of Star Trek (spread though all the series) but i really like the concept of it. Make the next movie more like Prometheus and people might actually be more interested in the series (I know it's pretty popular but where i live in there's not much of a following, i din't even know about it until the first movie). Focus on the exploration part that's what i want to see atleast. New worlds and original sci fi concepts. After the third movie maybe make a reboot of TNG. From what i can tell you don't really need to change a lot from the characters to make them more like action heroes. Worf is the easiest, Picard should be in his first mission as a captain and should have a backstory related to the military, Data is basically David in Prometheus and Geordi is just a young mechanic/ engineer from the ship. Make it about Picard being assigned a weak team from the Starfleet and being sent to in an easy and insignificant mission on a brand new discovered planet but finds there the Borgs. He could find out that they plan on a war with starfleet and try to prevent it. Easy money.
