Some fans over at TheForce.net, the Blu-Ray.com forums and the DVDTalk forums have gotten hold of the new Blu-rays of the original Star Wars trilogy and are dissecting them for any changes that might have been made. They came up with a couple of things but only one is truly terrifying.

I'm sure you all remember the bit in Revenge Of The Sith when The Emperor keeps the mortally wounded Anakin alive by fitting him with robotic bits and turning him into Darth Vader. It should have been one of the most iconic moments in cinema history. Instead it's a silly load of old wank as Vader takes a couple of hilarious Frankenstein's Monster steps and screams "NOOOOOOOOOOOO". Well thanks to Mr Lucas, we can now relive some of that when we watch our brand spanking new original trilogy Blu-rays..



Lmao. Here is another change. Obi Wan's "Krayt Dragon" call to warn off the Sand People now sounds like he's having a very nice time in The Blue Oyster. And apparently the Ewoks now blink in Jedi too. No, I'm not making this shit up.




Note: This is not the actual Blu-ray clip, youtube user WideAsleepFilm synced the MP3 from the clip with the original footage so it might be slightly different even though the audio will be the same. Anyway, this sucks. I know I know, it's just a movie and I'm not one of these "Lucas raped my childhood" types. But I will certainly stand up and say that he royally [frick]ed up some great movies and their legacy. I mean is it even in question? Leave good enough alone for God's sake. If you're so adamant to change Star Wars then re-release the new trilogy, only with a different cast, script writer and director.

What's the big deal? The Star Wars population wanted prequels and that's what they got. What did you want? For Anakin to awake encased in Vader armour and go

"ooh, shiney" or "oh my, this just wont do at all". It works in the context of the movie.

They are made. The damage is done. Stop feeding the Lucas empire...he's rich enough anyways

Screaming NOOOOOOO in any movie has become the equivalent of "Lets head em off at the pass". It's contrived, cliched bullshit. And now we have to hear it if we want to watch Jedi on Blu-ray? Cock.

@Deadshot This is real. The audio IS from the new Blu-Ray.

There's a lot of these changes. You should hear the new Krayyt Dragon yell from Obi in ANH.

The picture quality on the Blu-Ray is great but if you hate changes you'll be pissed. I kind of welcome most of them.

not a bad scene what were they supposed to do. I thought it was well done the third movie is my second favorite to empire, I enjoyed the NOOOO scene.

Lucas is just enjoying being the king of this beast he made. I don't care if lucas ruins star wars I will just move on to something else.

I obtained the original versions of the 1970's Star Wars movies, and never looked back. Only way I'll ever buy another SW movie is if they re-release the original untouched trilogy on blu-ray.

@itbegins2005 You'll never see the OT unaltered ever again. They don;t exist as Lucas basically took the whole negative apart piece by piece and put the films all back together for the 2004 and current blu-ray release.

@Marvel72 It's real for the blu-ray (though this is put together). The mp3 came from the blu-ray. They took the DVD video and matched to audio to the video but I have seen the blu-ray and it's there.

It's not THAT big of a deal, at least compared to some of his other changes (Greedo shoots first), but I'm still not buying these.

I guess why I'm so angry is that Jedi had some problems anyway, but that scene above was always perfect for me. I mean PERFECT, I loved everything about it. Now Vader screaming NOOOOO may not seem like a big deal to some of you but it almost completely ruins the scene for me.

Anyway whether you think I'm over reacting or not you must agree with my basic point: It's time for this man to stop [frick]ing with these movies.
