So to start off my official review of this amazing movie, I will say that this movie was AMAZING. I am sure you guys have seen just about every trailer as I have for the past few months. I personally felt like i saw 3/4 of the movie through the friggin trailers!!!!! But when I sat down today at the Marine base, and witnessed greatness in the making. McG is a genius!!!!!!! If not for Bale McG just successfully rebooted an almost dead series. We all had a bad taste in our mouths from T3.... But once the is released to the general public you'll see what I mean. I wont go into too much detail through the review ill keep it brief but detailed.

SPOILER REVIEW!!!!!

The movie starts with Sam Worthington's character in prison and is offered a solution to his suffering. Then just a few minutes in after that it cuts to John Connor with the helicopter landing on a T600's head and putting a bullet into it 15 years after (2018). Things happen and John leaves. After that we find Sam Worthington's character Marcus wandering aimlessly in the desert until he hits L.A.and runs into Kyle Reese who is played by Anton Yelchin who does an outstanding job. Now they are off to find John Connor with a mute little girl named Star. We then see Star and Kyle get captured by that huge robot you see in the preview and is taken to SkyNet's headquarters in SF. Marcus escapes and meets a pilot of the resistance named Blair (played by Moon Bloodgood) they get into a scrap with some scavengers and Marcus handles business. Blaire takes Marcus to John and the HQ. The HQ is surrounded by a magnetic mine field which Blaire thinks they will be fine because they are human. Marcus then gets hit by a magnetic mine that blows him away. You then cut to John's wife, Kate Connor played by Bryce Dallas Howard. This is when you see the scene where Kate and John look at Marcus and they say what are you???? Things go on and Blaire still thinks there is still a human side to Marcus and they escape. John and his team track them down to a lake where John gets attacked by the water robot and Marcus saves John and tells him to either kill him or help him find Kyle Reese. John knows withouth Kyle there is no future and lets him go. Now Marcus is on his way to SF and find Kyle. Marcus infiltrates the SKYNET base and learns what he is and why. John follows shortly after and frees the prisoners. (before I go on anymore, Linda Hamilton doesnt actually narrate, John listens to old tapes of hers..) Anyways John free the skinned prisoners. While looking into the pods for Kyle he looks into and gets pushed away by a flying door and you guessed it, a naked arnold schwarzenegger comes out looking EXACTLY like he did in the first one. It was perfect. Fights break out and John realizes that these are the T-800 that he found of the plans in the beginning which are stronger and harder to kill. So kyle bumps into John and they stay together for a short time until John calls for air support and tells Kyle and Star to get out. Now Marcus is back in the picutre on the good side and starts kicking the T-800's ass. John plants an explosive around the power cores that power the machines. ( the chip arnold throws out the car in the 3rd one and it makes a small mushroom cloud) So the T-800 just about kills marcus, and goes back after John. The T-800 stabs Connor with a metal pole almost killing him. Once to safety John is on a medical bed almost dead and Marcus offers his heart to John as redemption for his horrible past. John lives on and they set it up for a sequel where John learns about time travel and how they can program metal to obey human commands. That's the end of the movie.

MY final review of this movie is 4 out of 5 stars. It was decently long but always kept you busy. the acting was right on, and the actual storyline was superb. Bale didn't steal the spotlight and each character had lengthy scenes.
So overall WAYYYYYYY better then X-Men Origins: Wolverine and just as good as Star Trek.

So, he gets a robotic heart?

Man, they really wanted to make Conner a robot in this, didn't they?

His heart may be real. In the comics they were humans with machine parts and some machine brain as well. So the heart may be human.

Thanks for the review SdProphet90.

On rottentomatoes.com it is at 14% right now with only 7 reviews. I'm sure it will go up. I don't expect it to go over 50% based on those yuppies' reviews.

I'm surprised there are actually people who thought T3 was even remotely close to good that film was horrible.

@TucsonRican Marcus is a human/machine hybrid and his heart is part machine, as Smolo hinted above. How do I know this? It's in the novel, which apparently doesn't deviate too much from the movie.

I just saw the movie and I have to say that it had the potential to be excellent but to be completely honest, the directing somewhat ruined it. It just didn't feel like a Terminator movie. Was it bad? No. Was it better than "T3"? Without question. But was it close to the first two films? On some levels it was and on some it wasn't. There were parts of the plot that I didn't like because they just seemed too cheesy. I'm definitely gonna have to go see it a few more times this weekend to figure out my feelings for sure.

I will say that one major positive is that unlike the third piece of trash, it didn't make any new/stupid/unneccessary plot twists which inadvertantly created contradictions to the truths from the previous movies.

And on the other side of that, one major negative was the use of music in the film. In all the trailers they use a version of the "Terminator" theme song. It is barely used (if at all, I honestly didn't notice it if it was) and one major part of the first two films was the song being played throughout the entire movies and being used to create the moods.

Also, a major part of that review was left out-- the main plot (other than Marcus Wright's character) is that the Resistance thinks they have found the way to defeat Skynet once and for all. They have found a frequency that overrides anything which Skynet controls. John tests it on one hydrobot model (a snake-like Terminator model which is found in water-- I believe there are 2 different models) and it works. He and Barnes later test it on an aerial HK and it also works. John later uses it to reprogram a Mototerminator which he rides to Skynet's main base. However, we learn that it was actually a trap and that Skynet allowed the Resistance to find and use the frequency... because doing so allowed Skynet to find the Resistance's Command, which resides in a submarine. Skynet then sends an HK to destroy the submarine, and is successful, thus destroying the Command.
