The trailer played in front of 'Joker', it kinda looked like they spoiled the whole movie? Every major set-piece and presumably, even the finale... Wtf

@GothamSon - ya! I turned off that trailer half way through! Terminator 2 is the first movie I saw in the theatre so this needs to be good. Trailers are all too spoilery these days, that scene where Mackenzie Davis is fighting in the factory? We don’t need to see that whole scene wtf??

@GothamSon - Yess dude I felt like I saw the whole movie in the Imax preview. And it was so bad i forgot all about it until I saw your comment.

@CaptainMexico - Unless the factory scene is just a decoy, some trailers have done that before to fool the audience. But it does look like the finale fight

I would be highly surprised if this is anything other than a commercial and critical flop.

@Scarilian - Critically, I'd bet the response will be mediocre to slightly above average at best. At the box office though, I bet it'll manage to turn a profit, mainly due to China. The budget is estimated to be somewhere between $160-200 million, so it probably has to do over $400 million worldwide to start making a profit.

Joker was... interesting.

Lots of stuff of I LOVE. Some stuff was very strange.

I'll give it a 7.5/10. Better than *most* of the movies DC's put out so far.

Phoenix should be nominated for Best Actor, IMO.

@L0RDbuckethead - Had it’s issues...But leaps and bounds beyond anything WB - DC has put out since the Nolan trilogy...

Also, agreed that Joaquin needs a nom for best actor here...That’s mandatory...

^ I think Joker didn't go near far enough. I hear that test screening reactions muted the movie into something more toned down.

I think he first stand-up performance scene was a missed opportunity to show Fleck really shine with some good jokes, and slowly find the audience warm to him and respond. Some missed moments that could have made the movie really shine.

^ Also, Deathstroke badly needs a movie. It's long past time to see Slade tear some people up on the big screen.

Saw Joker yesterday.

What a brilliant film!

From Phoenix's outstanding acting, the gorgeous cinematography ans 80's city feel - to the haunting score, theme of rich vs poor in the society and the importance of mental health.

9.5/10
