I'm going to break it this movie down from beginning until end, for everyone, and point out the flaws, and certain likes in this flick.

Lets start with "The Flaws" first:

1) The Terminator movie takes place in 2018. I found that to be an issue, primarily because its not to far from today. Its 9 years actually, why could they make it 2028 or 2035? The writers didnt give us a specific date, or month, or anything, just the year. Eh, not much to work with, especially if it suppose to be "apocalyptic", this felt like the third film all over again. As if the war hadnt even started yet, though they kept talking about, how they were in a war. In the end of the movie, bale states: "We won the battle but not the war"...sooo, Blowing up skynet headquarters wasnt a big deal after?

2) Dr. Serena Kogan. She was never talked about in the T1 or T2? They didnt even mention her in T3? If she was such a big part of skynet why wasnt she mentioned, or why wasnt the idea of Cyberdyne Systems mentioned in T3? didnt T-800 come back with even more information than the last two movies? PLOT HOLE! It felt kind of just made up, I know its like a Requel, you know McG's seperate story. but, if youre going to try to interconnect it to the last films, at least REVISE over your script. Because, if she was a MAIN part of skynet story, they should of mentioned that in the first three films right? but, you dont find that out until like the last 45 minutes of the movie.

3) Okay, the scout and the "HK" hunter-killer, which takes Kyle and Star alive in a round up of humans to transport to a prisoner camp and Marcus, is left behind. How did they NOT HEAR THOSE MACHINES COMING THERE WAY? Are the resistance deaf? The machines are supposed to be heavy, and loud. If Kyle Reese, can hear an "HK" in LA, why clouldnt he hear the machines when they attacked the Gas station.

4) John & Kate Conner. Whats going on with them? They had so much chemistry on screen, but yet they barely show them being affectionate towards each other. In T3, Arnold states: Kate Bruster is one of the main reasons why John conner becomes the man he is, shes suppose to be just as strong, and strong-minded." She barely, had any damn lines in the movie. Uhaha. AND SHE WAS PREGNANT HOLD DANGEROUS ROBOTS. whats going on here? she should eb in bed, getting ready for labor. There was no chracter development between those two, almost as if their relationship was just a cliche. when you watch the movie John conner doesnt even say his wifes name, I think the only time you hear the name is in the END of the movie. Throughout the whole movie, he doesnt even say who she is, if you have watched the T3 and you go into watching T4, youll be wondering, who the heck is she suppose to be? And GIVE HER SOME LINES!

5) Kyle Reese was caught by the Scout Machine, and taken to Skynet. Why didnt they just kill him there, and then? Wasnt he the Primary target? Are these writers taking stupid pills or something? You know if they had Just kill Kyle Reese, There is no sending him back. Machines Win. And John Conner would of CAME any ways looking to rescue his father, who is already dead.

6) T-800 in the end of the movie. That robot could of Killed john conner if he wanted to. But instead he through him around, and gave him a chance. lol Youre kidding me right Aiiwolf? NO, I am not kidding you. Thats exactly, what happened...He didnt kill Conner, he just through him around, when all he could of done was snap his neck if he wanted to.

7) Why, was there only two terminators in the end of the movie? They had a MACHINES MANUFACTURING Terminators in that facitilty, there could of been more. It would of made more sense. It could of Climax the story Kyle Reese told Sarah Conner about TERMINATORS being built, and released out to destroy the captured survivors. Where the END begins, finally!

8) Marcus Wright was shown as a strong character, but they weaken him when John Conner pointed a Pistol at hi. What was that Pistol going to do to him? Its not like Conner would of killed him? Did Marcus Wright say "right, now all i want to do is Kill you, I dont care about the rest at the moment" because he was mad at the fact how John Conner was treating him. didnt like what they did there, they totally weaken his character. why the ehck would he be scared of getting shot at by conner, i mean I expected him to walked up to conner and say "If youre going to point a gun at someone, expect to shoot" and snatches it or something from him. To show, he could of killed him if he wanted to.

9) John Conner talks about how he has to blow up skynet or that facility they kept the captives. He makes this BIG DEAL about how hard it will be, and how difficult it seems. But, he goes in there ALONE and sets those BOMBS like it NOTHING. Geez, you really are BATMAN arent you Christian Bale? Nice voice by the way, didnt mind the voice, I thought it was funny. Just found it ironic that it took one man to do all, and ONE terminator guarding that DOOR he broke into, and that ROBOT was an idiot. Dont those terminators, see better at night? lol

10) The war had just began. So, this was Battle 1? I seriously, thought this movie was going to be taking place in middle of the war. But, It felt like the first three movies all over again. Why arent there Termiantors walking around, scarying the shit out of our pants? I mean, the termiantors, and especially the music from the first 2 movies, made those movies intimidating. This didnt have that same vibe, it felt rushed, and kind of like T3. T1 and T2 are very ahrd to compete against, totally understandable, but this movie had so much potential of being better, and having a better storyline. The movie should of focused on John Conner and Kyle Reese, but instead focused on Marcus Wright and Moon bloodGood character.

The LIKES:

1) F/X were good, kept you entertained. Felt like a Michael Bay movie. lol [Not really a compliment]..but good effects.

2) Arnold Cameo. Didnt need it, but cool. Just for the "Fanboys" thats all. By the way. why didnt John conner recognize Arnold? Bale didnt even acknowledge the fact hes met T-800 twice in his life. Almost, if he never even met him.

Theres not much else I can say about this film, it has alot of flaws, and Black holes. Over all its a decent movie, keeps you entertained. but, it doesnt feel like Terminator 4, more like Terminator 3.5. If I was to rate this movie I'd give it a solid 7/10.

Yeah, there is no argument, yall "fanboys" need to stop trying to LIKE this movie so damn much. It was decent. End of story.

Well i agree for the most part lol here's what i think

1. didnt say kate connor's name at all that was stupid
2.I think he kinda had a look in his face when he saw the govantor for the second time in his life, i got the idea that he recognized it from the look on Bales face
3.Didnt like Bale's Batman voice used for Connor
4. If these machines are such good killers they would have just snapped Johns neck at the end fight sequence not thrown him around
5. Connor should have been dead with that pole going through him, it might not have hit his heart but all ur others organs would be toast.
6.Kyle Resse should have been dead once they found him
7.Stupid that they blew up Skynet, yet they didnt win the war??? that made no sense lol
8.What ever happen to that sound they found to destroy the robots they used it to destroy that ship and they dont bother bringing it to skynet at all.

Yea a lot of flaws but entertaining

See Ya, The ShakeBake

@ Fartman

Yeah youre right, it is a movie. But, not an intelligent one. The reason directors like nolan, spielberg, P. Jackson, Leterrier, and many more that are Talented and acknowledge to the "fans" as well movie makers [majority of the time] are so successful is because they take time to plan things out, and they all have an ego, but they also write their own material.

We dont have movies like Casablanca [flawless by the way]...or Ben-hur, or yet, Spartcus.

We dont have talented writing, and movies today are a no brainer, of course it nice to see special effects, but if the plot doesnt make sense, or if its the same movie for the fourth time...it gets old. Its always about SAVING someone, if there wasnt a kyle, conner would be focused on taking down skynet...and maybe actually had character development between him and his wife, and sam worthington wouldnt have turned out to becoming bale's bitch in the movie, the story focused on characters that didnt matter, and the characters that DID were left out.

It was a very entertaining movie dont get me wrong, but if youre asking for a review, I'm going to give you an honest one. The movie is very complexed, but I feel like im watching the T3 all over again, when are the machines going to walk on earth and kill humans? I mean Isnt that what we want? Were waiting to see some serious Robot ass kicking, and Conner's true leadership. This movie was nothing but "TALK"....blah blah...MAchine this machine that...Mute arnold hit me with a swissle ball bat...ehh ehh eehh ehh"

All I have to say is the trailers were misleading...Btw dont the robots have laser guns too?

Fartman you could of made a better movie than this, seriously. lol

@ Gunsmith

If you enjoyed the movie thats all that matters :)

Everyone has their own opinions, I enjoyed it too, but I wanted more, or a better script. If they could add more too this film like more character development than that be a HIT.

The Dark Knight was such a good film, but when you watch it its depressing. you can really go into the mind of Nolan, and be amazed at his work of art.

during the film I was amazed at the stuff I saw, but I felt the same way as I did when I saw T3...Wth did i just watch?! lol

The whole saving him, and her, or vice versa is getting OLD, they need to freshen thinsg up if they make a part 5....McG can do...totally have faith in him. I liked CA1...dont care what peopel say about his work...each project is different.

But as for this movie I still give it a solid 7. Maybe if they add more...Ill bump it up to 7.5...when I see those titties lol [j/k]

I disagree with a lot of your points, but I like your reviews, as pessimistic as they can be you are honest.

And you mentioned my favorite movie Casablanca, best movie ever!

What CB movie besides Dark Knight do you like? I personally liked Daredevil, I felt it was near great, but not perfect.

Hanzogamer - 5/23/2009, 6:19 PM
The reason they didn't use the signal against the terminators was because the signal was a trap.

The signal never affected a single machine. Skynet simply shutdown the machines in the vicinity to make the humans think the signal worked, when in reality the signal was just Skynet tracking down the leaders.
MetalHead
MetalHead - 5/23/2009, 6:35 PM
Dude, you are seriously ignorant when it comes to Terminator movies. THEY LITERALLY JUST STARTED PRODUCING THE T-800s IN THIS MOVIE! That's why there weren't any! Did your dumb ass actually pay attention?
TucsonRican
TucsonRican - 5/23/2009, 6:39 PM
Don't understand the complaints on the time setting....one of the best things about the third movie(actually the only thing) is the ending and seeing the missiles launched. With that many W.M.D.'s in the air at one time, the world would be decimated in a matter of minutes.

So, what's the problem with the time setting? Sounds like people are just nitpicking on that one....
MetalHead
MetalHead - 5/23/2009, 6:41 PM
Also, the reason there aren't Terminators everywhere is that the T-600s weren't largely produced and the T-800s are just now (as of the events in this movie) beginning to be manufactured. You know, like how when the first car was invented there weren't instantly enough cars for everyone on Earth to own one? How do you not get these things.

Not to mention that if you had read the books you'd know (a) all the answers to your questions and (b) all of the reasons that you are wrong about what you're saying.
MetalHead
MetalHead - 5/23/2009, 6:42 PM
TusconRican,
Don't say "people" are nitpicking-- only this clown. He doesn't get the whole Terminator world and yet he's running all of this ignorant and inaccurate information all over the place.
MetalHead
MetalHead - 5/23/2009, 6:46 PM
As for Dr. Serena Kogan, a few problems with your point:

1. The T-800 in "T2" didn't give Sarah and John a rundown of every single F'ing employee ever of Cyberdyne Systems! It told them "the man MOST DIRECTLY RESPONISIBLE [for Skynet's existence] is Myles Bennett Dyson."

2. Who ever said that Dr. Serena Kogan is as important as you're making her out to be? She was just a scientist working for Cyberdyne Systems. You're making it sound like she was the one who created Skynet.
MetalHead
MetalHead - 5/23/2009, 6:49 PM
Again, (YOU IDIOT), Skynet could NOT kill Kyle Reese in the future because Skynet can NOT exist if Kyle isn't sent from the year 2029 to the year 1984 because the events which Kyle caused in 1984 are DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for Skynet's creation and existance.

You're doing pretty good proving your points here, eh?
THEHAWK
THEHAWK - 5/23/2009, 6:52 PM
Dude, Kogan worked for a different company and died before the company was bought out by Cyberdine. This was revealed when Markus used Skynet to research his past,

As far as blowing up Skynet's headquarters not being "a big deal after all," as you put it... WRONG AGAIN! That was ONE of MANY of Skynet's factories across the country. You yourself said it: where are all the T-800s roaming the Earth? BEING BUILT IN FACTORIES ALL OVER THE EARTH! So that was ONE they destroyed, hence the line that they had won the battle, but not the war.

You guys are funny. All joking aside, yes I can seriously kick some ass but I choose not to because of the very real possiblity that all it takes is one punch to accidentally kill someone and is a disagreement over a movie really worth hitting someone? Hellmont

Gentlemen Gentlemen.....

I am very disappointed with this film. The Terminator Franchise is incredible but this movie flat out sucks. This was suppose to be a reboot for the franchise. Not an attempt to bury it.

I am sorry I just cant walk into a theater and say. Got my coke and my popcorn and I am not going to expect anything I will accept anything the studios, directors and editors throw at me. !!![frick] NO!!!

I really wanted to see a BAD-ASS John Connor not some confused or dis-oriented little bitch. I wanted to see J.C. Lead an Army of Resistance Fighters that would struggle on the battlefield trying to bring down the terminators, enduring casualties and heavy loses on both sides. Cold Terminators tearing bone and sinew from the humans, and the human resistance fighting to the last man and bullet. Watching Kyle Reese move up the ranks while being observed by J.C. and J.C. unaware of his true identity.Much to J.C.'s Surprise when he realizes that the amazing soldier that has fought in the Resistance is none other than his Father. The man that would be sent back in time to protect Sarah Connor.
Having the resistance quickly learn how to decimate the machines based on the strategies and information provided by John Connor and finally learning how to reprogram the terminators to fight against each other. Then Skynet would deploy their prototype T-800s and the resistance would quickly have enormous loses but then of course J.C. would come up with a solution to detect them and once again level the playing field between the two factions.
The Final battle between Skynet and the Resistance where Skynet discovers how to manipulate the space time continuum and sends the first T-800 from the first Terminator Movie to kill Sarah Connor and of course the Resistance fights their way into the Skynet Lab only to realize what has happened and J.C. already knows exactly what he has to do. Send in Kyle Reese to protect his mother. THE END Roll Credits

Then we can sit back and wait the next and final Terminator installment that should lead to the T2 movie and the final Battle between the Resistance and Skynet.

Not the Bullshit that McG just gave us that made me want to puke. Funny thing tho. Up until I saw TS I didnt care who McG was. Now I realize that they gave Terminator to the guy that did Charlies Angels, the same guy who produced all those dumb ass music videos.
Good One Warner Bros. Who did McG have to blow to get the privilege of releasing another movie that apparently only James Cameron can pull off.

Sorry ppl you may say that hey its just a movie and yes you are right, but I have this thing called standards and I dont lower them. If you cant do a better job than your predecessors then you dont deserve to do the job period and who ever gave you the job should be fired as well. I pay 10 bucks at the movies and 20+ for blue ray . I expect results. Thats why I have standards

I really enjoyed drinking a corona at the cinebarre and watching this fun flick, I give it an 8/10. Yes 8/10 b/c Bale needed to make Connor a lil more badass. Kyle Reese was played pretty dam good and the age, What 18 19?, fit with the timeline. I really liked when the T600s started shooting the sh*$ outta everything with those friggin gatling guns and the sound quality from the robotic movements were badass but the model was inferior so begins the TRANSITION, Metalhead is right it is not that hard to figure out, to the new improved T800s. Your watching an altered and earlier version of the Terminator Wars that have been shown in the previous flicks, think about it people time gets altered when you travel back in time for 3 movies so this is the way they went and it worked, for me anyway. Think about it this version of Connor doesnt want to send Reese back he wants to prevent that from ever happening cuz if he can stop the machines before they can create the time travel technology then the whole viscious cycle can be broken. The chick Helen Bohnam Carter played wasnt in the other ones, yes im talking to you Aiiwolf, b/c she is another piece of the puzzle they decided to throw in there to alter the future. The Marcus Wright "living" terminator with a heart and soul saving Connor at the end was kinda cheesy. I cant wait for DVD to see the alternate ending. And absolutely 100% agree that T3 was a lil embarassing to watch but the TX was hot so hey i got in my collection haha. Everyone has their opinios yes and thats mine :)

I'm an idiot?! Terminator books...what terminator books were thye following ASS CLOWN. Since were callign each other names now metal face...I can go ahead and say this....Wolverine sucked. Im sorry that you have bad taste in movies.

Go read books on time travel. Kyle Reese would of automatically change the future. His existance for the present future was destroyed when he went to the past, mean our present future he died here....

Dont pop out with what you know? Youre pretty dumb ass your default picture shows you to be, I can care less whether you AGREE or DISAGREE.

All my points are what I saw, and the movie didnt FLOW....and I wrote what I felt should of been brought to attention. but than agind I said the movie was decent, I never said it was bad....7/10 doesnt mean its bad.

@ THE HAWK

HELLL YEAHHHHH! CASABLANCA IS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES EVER MADE! I think that special blu-ray collectors boxset that came out ir ORGASMIC LOL.

Daredevil directors cut is an awesome flick, he ditches elektra to save a life. True hero right there....the way they sequenized each event and interconnected the story to make that cut was just great. I still hate that PARK fight scene lol....FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT remember that? Why the hell would too grown people fight in day light in front of all those little kids?

Hey metal Clown...you goign to come at me again and tell me that enjoy the park scene....Dude, im not liek you i dont enjoy everything hollywood throws at me. Yes, its a movie but i want intelligence in the movie.

Terminator Salvation lacked a good script, and lot of plot holes. As for certain characters, they were pretty ,made up...i dunno WHAT BOOK youre saying their following. If they should follow any book its the CONCEPT OF TIME TRAVELING.

If you were to travel to the past, the present self would die, meaning you would of never been born in the future. Oh, and why did you think Marcus wright is from the future, why dont you enlkighten us with your thougts since you act liek you know everything, metal man :)

hmmm this year so far....I LOVED STAR TREK.....and I LOVED WATCHMEN. I was Never been a fan of star trek, and that movie was near perfect. Watchmen, totally disappointed that it didnt make the Dough, it should of. I love the way they presented that movie. Btw, in Star Trek, I loved how they said GOING BACK IN TIME CHANGED THE FUTURE for many characters. For example Kirk's father died in their present, while in the other world he watched him become captain of his ship. Terminator has stupid flaws like that....How would the future not change? lol

::COUGH COUGH:: Something Metalmoron some how forgets to acknowledge::COUGH::

Hey, I didnt say I didntlike the movie. Just found alot nof flaws, and the film is 7/10 at most. Thats not a bad thing. Just the fact giving it 8 and 9s is a bit over-rated. The film lack character development between conner and his wife...and the characters that it should focused on it didnt.

***Spoiler***

And everyone knows...taking a stab to the heart like that would of killed conner...i dont care who the [frick] you are...but that was one of the most idiotic actions scenes ever made lol

Yeah I know, I wrote that in NUMBER 7. If it was a manufacturing company they should of had T-800s running around by now.

If the T-800 went back in time, they should of had the tyechnology of building T-800s than? Its not like a T-600 went back to 1984. So it really doesnt really give them any excuses to not have the technolgy to built a T-800.

Movie was poorly executed. :/

Dude I know what youmean about the Daredevil park scene, unnessisary, they could have cut that out and added the court case sub plot. The Directors Cut of DD is proof that studios can ruin movies, everyone thinks they are Demille or the Warner brothers, all of these execs and buisnessmen have to meddle with films and ruin them. That's why we got Venom in Spidey 3 and he sucked cause he was a last minute additon by the studios. It was ok for gys like Warners and Demille to meddle in pictures because they themselves were directors! not glorified accountants!

I agree Watchmen got the short end of the stick, it should have made loads more than it did. The reaction to it put me in mind of public reaction to Clockwork Orange(one of my favs as my avatar shows) it was killed by the critics and did poorly cause it was rated X, instead of R or PG13. It was even banned in parts of the UK. But now it is regarded as one of the most influential films of all time. That is what I think will happen to Watchmen. People love Wolverine and the Dark Knight now, but I think Watchmen will outlast them and be remembered longer and in a better light.

Aiiwolf, or IDIOT, as I call you,
I literally JUST went to see it again because of how absolutely ignorant your comments were.

First off, you say "what books were they following?" implying that because you don't know what books were followed, you are right. Well there are books that are literally associated with the movie. Not just references, but official prequels.

Second, FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME: Skynet had literally JUST BEGUN building the T-800s. That is why there were only a few operational ones in the building. Even the one that John fought had literally JUST finished being assembled.

NOW, you go and say something NEW that's stupid:
"If the T-800 went back in time, they should HAVE had the technology of building T-800s thEn?" (I corrected your grammar and spelling when I copied it.) The T-800 wasn't sent back until 2029 you IDIOT! That is 11 years AFTER this film took place. As of this current film, Skynet doesn't even have the technology to send anything back in time yet. The next film is going to be centered around Skynet's creation of the time displacement equipment.

And as for your absolutely stupid and incorrect comments saying that Kyle would change the future: NEWS FLASH: he DID change the future! He changed his future TO the future that he came from. Man, you are so ignorant when it comes to time travel theories. You have absolutely zero idea what you're talking about and it makes you look absolutely stupid. You are a joke on this site and everyone knows it ever since you tried going on about all of the things that were untrue (according to you) about Wolverine... only to learn from everyone on here that YOU were the one who was wrong. You just run your mouth about things that your brain is too stupid to comprehend. You think that the movie doesn't make sense when in all actuality it's just that you are too stupid to understand it.

I need to get Blue Ray, I already have HD though and I am cheap.

I like most of Kubricks work: A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, The Shining, 2001: A Space Odyssey
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, and Spartacus (I think he did that one)

He was a very selective director

@Metalhead

Marcus not an infiltrator??? Just a prototype to the T-800???

Ok, so Marcus is a (or one of) prototype to the T-800, right?

In the beginning of the movie when John's resistance force attacks that silo and finds intel on the T-800, they also find Marcus. Skynet then detonates a bomb to prevent them from gathering any information on the R&D project (T-RIP).

I'm guessing they also meant to destroy Marcus, right???

However, Marcus awakes and goes rogue; probably because his cybernetic brain implants were damaged in the blast, right???

That being said, Skynet never intended for Marcus to be an infiltrator; he was just a prototype used in the development of the T-800.

So, it was just coincidence that he would run into John and Kyle, and help Skynet gather some important information. Skynet decided to use him to its advantage, and it worked.

This is all correct, right??? Did you guys see this the same way I did??? ...because why did the T-600, Harvester, and Aerial HK try to kill Marcus if in fact he was a Skynet infiltrator??? ...because he wasn't. He was just a rogue that Skynet used to its advantage.

Am I right???
