TRON: LEGACY's Joseph Kosinski To Direct THE TWILIGHT ZONE Movie For Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. has been developing a big screen relaunch of The Twilight Zone for some time. After considering the likes of Michael Bay and Christopher Nolan for the tentpole, Matt Reeves was signed on to direct until he was hired for Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. Now, the project is moving forward. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Joseph Kosinski is in talks to direct, and it is being redeveloped for him after several writers worked on it. He's no stranger to science fiction, as he previously helmed Disney's Tron: Legacy and Universal's Tom Cruise-starrer Oblivion. Kosinski is also attached to direct another Tron movie and a remake of The Black Hole (both of which are set up at Disney), but where those exactly fit into his schedule along with Twilight Zone remains to be seen. The Twilight Zone will be produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran via Appian Way, along with Michael Ireland. Are you looking forward to seeing this new take on the franchise?

Works better as a tv series than a movie. Why not just bring it back using great guest writers.

The Twilight Zone is one of the greatest television series ever. Ever. I hope they have original stories and reworks or classic episodes. Watch The Monsters Are on Maple Street, and too... many to list. People are Alike all Over.

I'm cool with him!
He's got a great eye for visuals, Tron & Oblivion were both good films!

He needs a better script to pull off a Great one!

I'm a big fan of the series, can't wait for this and this is good news. Glad to know that Kosinski will be helming this project. I trust the man when it comes to sci-fi and I really enjoyed Oblivion and Tron Legacy was ok. Looking forward to this one.

@Nick56 I have to agree with you bud it sure has some Twilight Zone elements to it. Good film.

So instead of being a smart social commentary, it's now gonna PRETEND to be a smart social commentary.

THE TWILIGHT ZONE might have been an ongoing movie franchise if not for the on-set tragedy.

SIDENOTE: As a kid, I rented TWILIGHT ZONE: THE MOVIE when it first came out on VHS. I clearly remember reading the back of the box, where it mentioned "the late Vic Morrow." I remember thinking, "Oh, it's too bad he died, apparently not too long after making this movie."

It wasn't until years later than I learned that the actor actually died making the movie. Gave me shivers.

Amazing!? What do you have to do to be considered for directing a movie these days? Tron 2 & Oblivion, both sucks and are visually amazing, that's it....

Oblivion was the best scifi film this year, I just feel that the Twilight Zone movie should have separate writers and directors for each segment just like the 80's movie and the original TV series.

Screw a Tron movie sequel, Tron only really lives in the animated tv series. I'm more interested in a second series to Tron Uprising, the movies suck.

For me Tron Legacy and Dredd are my two favorite films above all others over the course of the past several years. I sought them out the day they were released on bluray. Oblivion was a very good sci fi film with some forgivable writting flaws but also put Kosinski in my cache of favorite directors.

Although I almost never agree with Ceejay, I too hope for a return of Tron Uprising. Then of course he stays true to form by knocking Legacy so one step forward two steps back on that guy.

I grew up watching the reruns of the classic TV series and now I've got my kids addicted as well. I showed them the movie from the 90s and we all enjoyed it. Good, creepy, fun. The TV channel Chiller has the 80s/90s Twilight Zone TV show...which isn't nearly as good as the classic series of course.

This guy better not screw this up. Twilight Zone is one of the greatest TV shows of all time so we have high hopes. I would rather they make a new TV show with good writers and directors than a movie.
