5. Spider-Man 3

This movie has a similar problem to the rest of the
Spider-Man films: it has too many villains. One of those villains is Venom, one of the most famous comic book villains ever. Sam Raimi was strongly against the inclusion of Venom in the third installment of his franchise, but pressure from Sony forced him to use the character. The version of Venom used in this film is terrible, and is the main reason why this movie is as bad as it is. The other two villains, New Goblin and Sandman would have been fine on their own without the Venom sub-plot. The visually stunning final action scene isn't enough to save this over-saturated mess.
4. The Amazing Spider-Man 2

A lot of people REALLY hate this movie, and most hate it even more than Spider-Man 3. I liked it, but it's definitely not the best Spider-Man movie. Again, this movie has too many villains.
The design for Green Goblin looks terrible, although the casting and performance aren't that bad.
Electro, another main villain, looks good, but the characterization comes across wrong.
The final villain, The Rhino, is a man in a robotic rhinoceros suit, and is given little to no screen time.
The story is boring, and there are a lot sub-plots that were never resolved.
However, there are two aspects of this movie that I did like, one of them being the death of Gwen Stacy. The scene is a great recreation of one of the most famous Spider-Man comic book moments.
The other part that I liked is the closing scene. It sets up a third movie that would have showed Spider-Man facing off against his rogues gallery. That scene isn't ever continued since the character rights reverted back to Marvel from Sony.
3. Spider-Man

Overall, I like this movie. It's a fun, creative take on Spider-Man, and its gives a great origin to the classic character. The Green Goblin, played by Willem Defoe, is a great antagonist. Defoe is great at playing the dual personalities of Norman Osborne and the Green Goblin.
The costume looks really weird though. The mask looks like a motorcycle helmet with ears glued to the sides.
Other than the costume, there's nothing I disliked about this film. It's a great start the the cinematic side of
Spider-Man.
2. The Amazing Spider-Man

Like the next entry in this list, the villain in this movie is the only villain in the movie, which makes him more intresting. The Lizard was brought to life using some spectacular effects.
When he's in his human form, Dr. Curt Connors, it becomes apparent that the writers went the same route as most other Spider-Man movies by having the villain be a mentor of Peter Parker's before turning evil.
I like Andrew Garfield's performance, despite the fact that he was 28 years old at the time of filming this movie, and he was supposed to be playing a high school student.
Also, this movie has what might be the best Stan-Lee cameo.
1. Spider-Man 2

This is easily the best and my favorite
Spider-Man movie. It has an amazing villain: Doctor Octopus played by Alfred Molina. What makes this villain stand out is not just the actors performance or his connection to Peter Parker, it's that he's the only villain in the movie.
I really can't think of anything bad about it. The action is great, the effects are great, and the performances are great.
