Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse swings into theaters today (Friday in some locations), and we'll be taking a closer look at the animated sequel's biggest moments over the next few days.

Don't worry, be won't be revealing any major spoilers in this particular article, because, well, there's really nothing to spoil!

It's a rare thing for any superhero movie these days, but unlike Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Across does not have a single post-credits scene. We caught a press screening, so there's a chance something might be added to the version of the film cinemagoers see this weekend, but it seems unlikely given how the movie wraps-up.

That would obviously take us into spoiler territory, so we'll leave it there, but at least now you won't have to stay in your seat until the credits have rolled in the hopes of seeing a stinger.

The review embargo lifted yesterday (you can check out our verdict here), and the movie currently sits at 95% on Rotten Tomatoes.

In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, after reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. However, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

The confirmed voice cast includes Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Jason Schwartzman, Daniel Kaluuya, Shea Whigham, Jorma Taccone, Luna Lauren Vélez, and Brian Tyree Henry.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be with us June 2, 2023

Honestly, pretty tired of Spider-Man. Maybe it's the MCU movies that did it,
But I am tired of this character. It seems like every other year, we get more Spider-Man content, and none of it lives up to the hype.

Give me something new.

@TempleRod - But all of it’s been living up to the hype. Multiple departments from live action to games have been operating at peak performance for 7-8 years straight now. It’s the best time to be a Spidey fan.

@PlusUltra - Hey, I guess if you are enjoying it,
then keep at it.

Personally, I need something deeper than what we've gotten recently. Maybe someday that will happen.

@TempleRod - I agree. Sony/Marvel had the golden opportunity to still use Spider-Man but create a much darker world to keep him on the run.

It was set up at the end of Spider-Man: FFH which Jameson outing him. All they had to do is introduce Kraven the Hunter and take it in a new direction to make it fresh, but they continue to keep regurgitating the same type of story all because of the value of the IP.

And as long as people keep paying to see it...they will keep making the same story.

@TyrantBossMedia - Hell yeah, brother.
You know, as an early user, you've been one source of inspiration for me.
Not that we agree on every issue, but I very much respect that you are not afraid to speak your mind.
These days that means a lot.

@TempleRod - Well thank you man. I’m surprised to hear something like that, not from you specifically but just to hear it at all. I really appreciate that.

Good call.
I still think it was a mistake Infinity War had a post-credits scene.
If you want people to stick around after the credits, show a teaser of the next movie, like they did with Matrix Reloaded (released over 20 years ago, WTF)

Post Credits scenes are played out.

Once Perlmutter left and the Post Credits scenes starting trolling the audience or were made pointless...that is when they jumped the shark.

@TyrantBossMedia - Ofc, you'd be a Perlmutter fan

@MarDCel - Am I a fan? Or do I simply acknowledge that the MCU was tighter, more cohesive and connected when he was a gatekeeper of Feige?

Nice try though slick
