Black Panther's Daniel Kaluuya may not have a role in Wakanda Forever, but the Nope star is set to lend his talents to another upcoming Marvel-based project.

THR reports that Kaluuya will provide the voice for Hobart “Hobie” Brown, a.k.a. Spider-Punk, in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

We've known that the character was set to debut in Sony Pictures' animated sequel for quite a while, as he appeared in some leaked merchandise art late last year. This take on Spider-Punk is described as "a homeless teenager who becomes a hero to the oppressed citizens of New York in his dimensional universe."

Specific plot details are still under wraps, but the follow-up has been confirmed to feature multiple new incarnations of the wall-crawling hero. Peter B. Parker, Gwen Stacy, Spider-Ham, Spider-Man Noir, and SP//dr are expected to return, and Insecure star Issa Rae will play Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman.

Spider-Man 2099, aka Miguel O´Hara (Oscar Isaac), will also have a more prominent role after debuting in the first movie's post-credits scene.

Joaquim Dos Santos (Voltron: Legendary Defender; The Legend of Korra), Kemp Powers (Soul), and Justin K. Thompson will direct. Phil Lord and Chris Miller penned the script along with David Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). Lord and Miller will also produce with Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Christina Steinberg.

Miles returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga for an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Part 1 recently moved from October 7, 2022 to June 2, 2023, while Part 2 won't swing into theaters until March 29, 2024.

I love Daniel as an actor but lately he comes off as an actor that is dead inside and uninspired. Hopefully he has life in his performance this time🙂

@AmazingFILMporg - I think deadpan has always been sort of his style, lol. From all the way back in his Black Mirror days to Get Out and Nope.

@AmazingFILMporg - That was the point of his character in NOPE. And he really wasn't given much to do in Black Panther.

I was at a Dominican chick’s house earlier. Never mi d that her 2 year old could grow up and be Spider-Man. He was watching some YouTube show or something, a bunch of Korean Spider-Man’s and V for Vendetta masked goons working for TDK masked Joker guy, all fighting with nerf guns

Worst thing I’ve ever watched this week (I’m sorry to say)
