Thanks to The Wrap, we have a new look at Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. As you can see, an unmasked Miles Morales is taken down by Miguel O'Hara/Spider-Man 2099 in what looks set to be a very intense battle.

We recently learned that the future web-slinger will serve as the sequel's antagonist, though Miguel won't be a full-blown villain. That role goes to The Spot, a C-List baddie from the comic books who will get a major power upgrade in this movie and the planned threequel, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse

Talking to the trade, writer and producer Christopher Miller teased, "The things that we’re doing in this new Spider-Verse movie are breaking the pipelines all over again. But everyone’s excited about it and not just terrified."

"It’s definitely more insane," Lord added. "We finally made some people nervous. I feel like we’ve done our job."

We have a feeling Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is going to be a very special movie, and we're sure another "Best Animated Feature" Oscar is in this franchise's future. Accolades aside, all signs point to this being another spectacular adventure for Spidey fans to embark on.

Check out that amazing new still below.

In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, after reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.

However, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

While lots of rumours are swirling, in terms of confirmed cast members, the movie will star Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld. Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Oscar Isaac.

Written by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller and David Callaham, and directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, Justin K. Thompson, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse swings into theaters on June 2, 2023.

I think they buffed up 2099 for this movie compared to his appearance in ITS.

Spidey 2099 should realize he doesn't stand a chance against the exaggerated swagger of a black teen.

Okay, the movie isn’t even finished and Josh is awarding it an Oscar. Hype? I mean I expect it will be good and maybe Oscar worthy but as Josh often says, we’ll have to wait and see.

@RolandD -Josh thinks highly of himself, speaks in third person at times, speaks in multiples at other points (often using “we” in reference to all his other aliases), and definitely gets ahead of himself.

His opinion isn’t fact, though he likes to think so.

Josh using his buzzwords again: “amazing new still”….

It doesn’t really show much, nor is it categorically “amazing”. 😏

I wanna know what exactly is Miles' approach to dealing with The Spot that makes him get in Miguel's bad side. Also where is Peter B. in all this? He wouldn't let this 2099 doppelganger to put his hands on Miles like that.

If this is even half as well received as the first one I’m betting Miles showing up in the next Live action Spider-Man is a certainty
