Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduced us to a whole host of spider-themed heroes from across the Multiverse, but it was Spider-Man: No Way Home that delivered a live-action take on the concept. Tom Holland's Peter Parker got to swing into action alongside Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's wall-crawlers, opening the door for future crossovers.

The hope among many fans is that that trio of actors could appear in one or both of the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse movies, and writers/producers Chris Miller and Phil Lord shared their (cryptic) thoughts on that prospect during a recent interview with Happy Sad Confused.

"The Multiverse is big and wider," Miller teased. "And all things grow. Why would you think a Multiverse, in which many things are possible, that [those things are] not related?" Lord interjected by sarcastically adding, "Everything's possible except for this one thing that everyone wants."

Lord would go on to explain how Amy Pascal has been "our conduit to knowing exactly what's going on in the Spider-Verse in various forms," adding: "The writers and director are all buddies of ours, so we sort of have been in the loop as far as what's going on. And we are always trying to make sure we're not stepping on each others toes and telling different types of stories and different themes and all that stuff, because people want an original story that feels new and interesting."

It would be crazy if not even one of the live-action Spider-Men makes an appearance in Across the Spider-Verse. While it's understandable that Marvel Studios would want to keep Holland's web-slinger completely separate (potentially to meet a live-action Miles Morales down the line), Garfield, in particular, would no doubt jump at the chance to once again return as his Amazing Spider-Man.

We'll see what happens, but the animated movie is bound to feature its fair share of surprises. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) is set to be released in theaters on October 7.

Tobey was originally going to be old Peter in SpiderVerse, but it's obvious why they decided otherwise. Bring him back one more time haha

Think it would be fun to hear Holland, Maguire and Garfield again in part 2, but I don't necessarily want to them in bigger roles already. Cameos are enough.

If we're gonna have to three again in larger roles, I hope it's in Secret Wars.

Would be pretty funny to have a scene where the animated spider verse characters are stepping into an opening, from the sky they see live action no way home trio. They watch for a moment, miles goes forward to help and Peter B puts his hands out, stops him, and says, I think they got this one kid.

I'd love it if the live action Spider-Men got voice cameos in the Spider-Verse movies at some point. Don't think it would work the other way around though.

At the end of Spiderverse 3 Miles and Gwen are going to swing into the MCU. Now you don’t have to give them a live action origin story and they’re already established characters.

Side Note: Yeah… I said this in a different post.

I think it would be fun to see some cameo's from the live action Peter's, but what I really want is cameo's from the animated series. Embrace the animated traditions that have brought so much joy and created Spider-fans.

The last show should have gone older with Peter, have him be a science teacher at the show's high school. That way you keep the high school setting and Peter showing Miles, Anya and Gwen the ropes would actually make sense. They let copying the movie's get between the story they wanted to tell.

So it kinda seems like they are moving toward joining the animated Multiverse with the MCU Multiverse (which makes sense, to a certain degree), so I say just go for it. Same thing with the Venom-verse. I mean at this point after NWH the Multiverse seems open and ready to go, but it won't last forever (I assume), so this is a way for Marvel to weave everything together. Seriously, would anyone here be upset to see one of the lave-action Spider-Men show up in the next Spider-Verse movie? Likewise, would anyone have a problem with the animated Spider-Verse showing up as one of the (presumably) many realms that Strange explores in DS:MoM? Not me. So this seems like an easy way for Sony and Marvel to marry everything up. Of course, as we know, half of all marriages in the US end in divorce, so there's that...
