SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Concept Art Reveals Alternate Take On Electro's Comic Book Inspired Costume

Spider-Man: No Way Home brought back a lot of familiar villains from the past, including Jamie Foxx's Electro. The Oscar-winner first played Max Dillon in 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, though the response to that interpretation of the character wasn't exactly the warmest.

It didn't help that the actor was decked out in a rubber costume and given bright blue skin, so the fact that Electro was redesigned for his MCU wasn't really a huge surprise!

Ultimately, Max charges into Spider-Man: No Way Home's final battle wearing a suit that's more akin to what we've seen from the character in Insomniac's Spider-Man video game. This was welcomed by fans, and we even got to see a hint of Electro's classic "mask" from the comic books.

Thanks to concept artist Christian Cordella, we now have an alternate take on both of Electro's MCU costumes. That final design is a little more streamlined than what ended up on the big screen, and looks more like a "final" suit for the electrically charged baddie than the one he'd cobbled together prior to arriving at the Statue of Liberty (there's also no sign of Tony Stark's Arc Reactor).

There have been rumours that Electro might get his own solo outing following the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, but nothing has been confirmed.

I prefer the design they went with. Max was feeling himself in this new universe and it worked. He was so insecure and secluded on Garfield's universe and when he transported into Holland's universe he gained a ripped body and hair. He felt so much energy in his ego that it worked for the character. Now of this was a totally new electro, I think those designs would have worked better.

@MeAreLegend - Seeing how his gap tooth was also fixed in TASM2. I can only conclude that YASSification is his secondary power lol

@MeAreLegend - yeah, that arc reactor worried me in the trailers and images. Worked fine onscreen.

@DarthOmega -

Great picture. Is there one with goblins face since he didn’t wear the mask and hood together?

@Ha1frican - I think Infamous 1 needs a remake to make Cole similar in o Infamous 2’s version. Infamous 2 for sure needs a remaster.

@eGGtheGreat - I always liked that design, sure it’s Doctor Manhattan esque but I like the animal hybrid thing. It was the characterization that didn’t work for me not the design

@Ha1frican - I get that, but him acting like an entirely different character in the new movie was jarring.

@eGGtheGreat - It’s like a Don Cheadle as Rhodey change for me “It’s me I’m here deal with it.” Lol new universe new energy, different personality dont think about it too hard yknow?
