Tom Holland has talked a lot about Spider-Man: No Way Home being the final solo movie he's contracted to star in as Peter Parker, even casting doubt on whether he plans to reprise the role. While the actor did seem open to another trilogy in a recent interview, something has clearly changed behind-the-scenes based on new comments from producer Amy Pascal.

Fandango recently caught up with the Hollywood veteran, and she was quick to interrupt when the site pointed out that Spider-Man: No Way Home will "wrap up this trilogy of films in collaboration with Marvel Studios."

"Can I say something about that? This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie," Pascal stated. "We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel, it just isn't part of..we're thinking of this as three films, and now we're going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies."

She concluded by noting, "Marvel and Sony are going to keep going together as partners."

Clearly, Holland isn't done as Spider-Man quite yet, and with Jon Watts setting his sights on the Fantastic Four reboot, you have to believe the hunt for a new director will begin in due course.

As for where Spidey can possibly go next after this massive Multiversal epic, that obviously remains to be seen. However, Pascal did say elsewhere in the interview that, "The parallel universes make for so many interesting stories, but I don't think that every single movie is going to end up taking place in the multiverse. I think it's really exciting, and this movie certainly does."

Hopefully, this new trilogy will take Peter to college, and there are still plenty of villains for Marvel Studios to pit Spidey against after his meeting with the likes of the Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus. For now, we'll have to wait and see how things play out for the hero in this upcoming threequel!

Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in U.S. on December 17 and in the UK on December 15.

So that says to me the Venomverse characters are probably in the MCU to stay. My biggest hope from this is that Morbius and Blade get a crossover at some point

@Ha1frican - Morbius actually looks decent. Venom can drag Spidey down. And not by menace but by idiocy. I’m thinking in part 2 the symbiote should have said you know what? I don’t like being a good guy. Instead of ending the same way as part one. Pretty much went through all the same paces as part one. Then at the end it actually would have made sense when he licked that TV screen. But No, you could tell Sony wants the dumb hero more than the cunning villain. Cake and eat it too. Like dude, if you knew he was gonna meet Spidey, then let him end Let There Be Carnage with a head bite of not just Carnage but also the useless cop, thereby showing at least a little proclivity for mayhem. One lil snippet of a young boy in tights makes him lick a tv screen? Where did that come from? Ohhh… forget I asked.

I hope Morbius doesn’t go through the same paces. Almost had to though. To me the best sequels are Winter Soldier and Civil War. Talk about raising the stakes.

It kind of felt like Tom's statement the other day was just leverage for a new contract but it also wouldn't surprise me if he was just in the first of the next 3 to bring Miles into the fold.

Ultimately, it's always nice to see the Spidey movies go in different and unexpected directions...
However, wouldn't say no to a more traditional Spiderman trilogy. Peter in college, keep the action back in New York and all that.

Not a surprise but hell yeah is it good to hear. Excited to see what they do and the direction they go in for his college trilogy.
