SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Star Snuck Into Theater With [SPOILER] On Opening Night; Reiterates Hope To Return

One of the returning actors in Spider-Man: No Way Home has revealed that they snuck into a theater alongside an equally spoilery co-star, while also commenting on possibly reprising the role down the line.

Spider-Man: No Way Home did something we never thought would happen on screen by having Tom Holland's Peter Parker team-up with the web-slingers played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

The scene in which they swing around the Statue of Liberty together is arguably one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most iconic pieces of imagery. Talking to Entertainment Tonight, Garfield revealed that he was able to experience this moment alongside moviegoers on opening night... with his fellow Spider-Man!

"I still can't believe it happened," Garfield said of his MCU experience. "I snuck into a theater on opening night and just watched with my baseball cap on and my mask. In fact, I was also with Tobey, me and Tobey snuck into a theater together and no one knew we were there. It was just a really beautiful thing to share together. And to find a brotherhood with Tobey as well, and with Tom, and the fact that we do share a very unique experience."

As for the possibility of playing Spider-Man again, Garfield responded: "Never say never."

"[If] there's a way for me to continue to add to the legacy of that character in a way that feels like it's of service to an audience, of service to the themes that Stan Lee injected that character with, I'm open, of course, I'm very, very open, but it would have to be very, very special. It would have to be very, very meaningful and fun, and joyful, like doing No Way Home was."

The actor concluded by saying, "It's always going to be a part of me, whether I'm playing the character or not, I feel very connected to him."

Garfield clearly valued his time working on Spider-Man: No Way Home and seems keen to revisit Peter Parker again should the opportunity present itself. Sony Pictures must have noticed the response to the return of the previous big screen Spider-Men, so we'd bet there are already plans in place for more adventures (if not, then it will be a major missed opportunity).

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now playing in theaters.

Even if they don’t make Amazing Spider-man 3. Even if they don’t make Emma Stone into Spider-Gwen. Even if Andrew doesn’t become a mentor to Miles. I still 100% believe we will see him again as Spider-man in the eventual Secret Wars movie. We got to get this guy to fight some aliens so he isn’t so lame.

for some reason this gets me hyped for when Sony finally released some BTS footage of their scenes.

Also, it would be amazing of those 2 managed to record and release a reaction of their audience watching their scenes.

@UniqNo - I hope so. There were fan girl screams in my showing when they showed up. That would've been a surreal moment for Toby and Andrew,I bet.

@ModHaterSLADE - I kind of agree with feige on those leaked Sony emails. He was all over the place in TAMS2 but not his fault though. that story was all over the place.

@ModHaterSLADE - Yeah. he's a great actor, and was really good in his first.

NWH was great too, but on a second watch you could kind of see through his performance and see Garfield as really just having fun with the other 2 Peters.

I honestly don’t want more and not because he isn’t great but because I think this is a retiring on a championship ring opportunity. Go out on the ultimate high note it’s not going to get any better than this especially if it’s a Sony only production so I say let it ride and let it be your swan song.

@Ha1frican - you know...... as much as I hate to admit it, you have a good point. I want a 3rd Amazing Spiderman, but you may be right, they might botch it and end Andrew's run once again on a whimper. This is a rather high note to end on.

Also I remember reading about how Andrew snuck in with a friend to the theater to watch the Raimi Spider-Man when he was younger, so it must've been surreal af to be then watching the new one with Tobey-freaking-Maguire lmao!

I'm not a fan of the Venom movies and no real interest in Morbius or the Sony Spider-Verse they've created. That being said, if you set all of it in the TASM world and sign Andrew to a 3 picture deal(not including cameos), I'll be there day one for all of them. Give Miller and Lord creative duties alongside Feige and it's a win for everyone.

Yeah, I dont buy it, masks or not, there is no way Andrew Garfield can go to see a movie starring HIMSELF and nobody would notice...plus, Tobey doesnt look like a very social person...

I’d rather just see him again for Secret Wars rather than ASM3...because those movies were terrible, no matter how good Garfield was.
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 1/7/2022, 3:39 PM
@HulkisHorny - Venom 3 is the most logical setting...where do you go after Carnage? and is about time he meets Spiderman, and since he left the MCU, just have him go to New York looking for "Peter Parker", and finding Andrew...with the whole "hive mind", you can have some fun with the symbiote mentioning "we dont know this guy, my cousin met another Peter who lived in New York, but he was shorter, and a lot less handsome...he got blew up with a bomb...poor Larry"
HulkisHoly
HulkisHoly - 1/7/2022, 5:48 PM
@TheHumanSpider2 -

Maybe.

I’d rather Sony just drop their venom films and just introduce Tom Hardy as a variant in the MCU. That way he can become venom in the mcu.
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 1/7/2022, 8:29 PM
@HulkisHorny - I dont think he wants to be in the MCU at this point, he has creative control over the Sony movies, and Kevin Feige wouldnt let him do what he is doing at Sony's.

If Spiderman stays in the MCU, I think the symbiote will eventually attach to Mac Gargan, and they will give him a new design, so audiences wont confuse the two...
Still we are probably over 6 years away from seeing that.

This man can act, I think it will be a waste to have him playing one of the lamest Spiderman villains

I love these guys together! Going in I was worried about their chemistry, but they all meshed so well. Hope to see them again maybe in MoM, at least Tobey since he worked with Raimi before

I’m surprised at how much I loved Garfield in No Way Home since I hate the TASM films but I guess that’s what happens when you give him some good material to work with.

Now that I've also seen Tick Tick Boom, I really think this guy is phenomenal. Really hope he get's to return to do more Spider-Man.

Also, imaging sitting in a theatre and Garfield is sitting next to you. He's probably gonna say he's not in it and just there as a fan

At my showing, everyone in the theater went wild when they appeared. I actually missed a lot of dialogue because people couldn't stop cheering. I hope their screening was anything like that 😊
