SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Tickets Are Being Sold For Tens Of Thousands Of Dollars On eBay

Tickets for Spider-Man: No Way Home went on sale a few hours ago, but for some fans, disappointment has followed. However, for others, they're looking to cash in big time heading into the holiday season.

Tickets for Spider-Man: No Way Home went on sale late last night, and chaos ensued. As is so often the case with a blockbuster like this one, a lot of theater websites were unable to cope with the demand and with no firm on-sale time, many fans have found themselves disappointed this morning.

There are, of course, those who have looked to cash in on the excitement and many tickets are being re-sold on eBay for a massive markup.

Oh, and we're not exaggerating when we say "massive." A quick look on the website reveals that tickets have been listed for a much as $25,000, and while we're not anticipating anyone paying that much for opening night tickets, some have gone for as high as between $75 and $200. That's honestly not surprising, though more screenings are likely to become available in the weeks ahead.

It's also worth noting that if you do manage to buy tickets, you shouldn't share screenshots of them on social media; there have been reports of some fans having their bookings stolen or cancelled after they posted photos on Twitter and Instagram. That and these tickets being sold for a huge profit sucks to see, but welcome to the internet in 2021!

Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in U.S. on December 17 and in the UK on December 15.

@Spidey91 - If you look at the actual completed sales, there are only about seven tickets that sold on eBay, and most of then were from twenty to fifty dollars per ticket.

Who is stupid enough to pay that for a ticket? As much as i am excited for this movie, its still just a [frick]ing movie, you dont have to see it opening night and pay a stupid amount for a ticket.

@RokoVII - I bet those scalpers are praying SOMEONE is stupid enough to buy a ticket from them. Makes me ill that this happens. I might just wait a few days and get one for $10. at my local theater.

There's a sucker born every min on this planet. And as long as those suckers are around, crappy movies will have demand like this. 😂😂

I have zero sympathy for any sucker who buys these tickets even from the legit source like at cinemas ticket window or their online websites, let alone over priced off the auction sites. 🥱😴

I’m so sick of people doing this. It’s happening with almost everything these days. The false demand for shoes, video games, video cards, new vehicles, etc. has become so tiresome.

@Shivermetimbers - I’ve never understood why people work themselves up and fall for these things. I remember the same frenzied behavior over cabbage patch dolls so its not a new phenomenon.

No one is paying thousands of dollars for these tickets other than the sellers who list at these prices themselves. It’s a common tactic where sellers list at ridiculous price and buy it themselves in an attempt to drive the market value

but why would anyone buy them? I'm not even what people would consider a BIG city, but I have 4 movie theatres all within 10-15 minutes away from me.
oh well, lucklily, items being listed for a price doesn't mean that they will get sold

What the sellers are asking don't mean sh*t. What matters is what they actually sell for, and, so far, I only count six sales.

The first one, is for $25,000.00 which is a bogus sale because the link to it doesn't work.

The second highest is only $4,500.00.

Then there are two sales for two tickets each, at $200.00 (for both tickets).

Then there are two sales for five tickets each, for $100.00 (for five tickets).

That's it.

Another click-bait article.

@DarkeyeZ - LOL! He certainly knows how to make articles out of almost anything vaguely related to comic book movies. There are worse sites, though. One of them I used to visit to would take one interview with someone and make several articles out it! Arrrrggggghhhh!

I come for the comments on the click-bait articles. Seriously. Some of you guys here are fun to communicate with.

I just bought my tickets! Or at least I think I bought them. I bought them and like two seconds later the site crashed. Or at least the SpiderMan part of the site crashed. (Regal Cinemas, for those of you wondering.) But I have an actual ticket sent to my email. But as I was purchasing it I got a message saying "there was an error processing your request. Your card hasn't been charged." But I just checked and it HAS been charged. So maybe I got in just in the nick of time. Cause it literally crashed. Meanwhile, it's around 9am CST now. Around the time I tried to purchase tickets (around 8:30am) most of the theater (IMAX) was sold out. I was able to get okay seats. Not great, just okay. But it's CRAZY how many people must've purchased tickets at 12:01am EST!
LSHF
LSHF - 11/29/2021, 6:41 PM
@BecauseICare - We have two Regal (Warren) cinemas where I live. I tried to nearby one for about four hours, and it kept getting errors on every step up to the one where they show the seating charts (reserved seating).

After the four hours, I tried the second Regal (Warren) which is further away, it worked, I bought one ticket and there was ZERO seats sold at that point, so I'm guessing the site has just started working properly.

So, I'm guessing that for Regal, NO ONE was able to purchase seats at midnight because the traffic was jammed to much. There must have been a crazy amount of people who were trying.
