Proof Sony have had a plan for Spider-Man... well actually, for Gwen but never mind.

Gwen Stacy died in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, in a clock tower.

Here's her death so you know.

Anyway, in The Amazing Spider-Man 1, when Peter and Gwen go for a web swing, the pass a clock tower and the camera kinda just lingers on it. Also, there was a deleted scene where they have a little date on the clock tower.

See?

Also, in TASM1, after Peter throws her out the window, he webs her on the stomach and a sharp note plays.

There's also Captain Stacy's promise, but that's a given.

FORESHADOWING!!!
Oooh, but it doesn't stop there. In the scene where Peter and Gwen see each other after a year in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, before the Time Square fight, the song Song for Zula plays. Lovely song, but listen to the lyrics... specifically the last line...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcdOLKx2XG8

Hear them? Don't worry if you didn't-

"And I could kill you with my bare hands if I was free"

Why use a song with those words in a scene about love? Well... this is where it gets interesting!

Also there was an early cut which had an alternate death scene, where HARRY OSBORN BREAKS HER NECK WITH HIS BARE HANDS!!! HE GOES ALL KAL-EL ON HER!

THAT SONG WAS FORESHADOWING HER DEATH!! EVEN IF IT'S AN ALTERNATE SCENE, IT COUNTS!!

So, there you have it, Sony had a plan! But because of you guys complaining, they're changing their original plan (as shown by their recent push back of TASM3).

Let me know what you guys think down below! :)

I never realized that Gwen's head actually hit the ground in her death scene until that gif. So if it wasn't for the damage in her spine, the fracture in her cranium would have done her in anyway, it seems.

I know right? Just like the comic, Peter couldn't save her. :(

First film was a glimmer of hope. Second film has eradicated all hope there is within the Spider-Man Franchise.

I really didn't mind TASM it's just TASM 2 felt like a train wreck. I'm fine with a shared cinematic universe and planning ahead it's just making everything work with in that universe.

"plan" = an intention or decision about what one is going to do.

Actually, I'm not trying to say that it's not bad, I'm trying to sound really un biased here! D: Plan does not equal done well; Agreed.

But yeah, you're making some valid points there and I totally agree, Peter COULD save her, but given the situation and the panic, he did the first thing that came to mind, shoot a web line. :)

but yeah, I just happened to notice some stuff and I had fun with it and made this.

Thanks man! :)

If you couldn't tell, I was really digging deep with the song lyrics and cut ending! XD

Considering I haven't seen TASM2 yet, I have nothing to offer. But damn, that GIF hits right in the feels.

Oh... shit! Did I spoil it? I'm sorry. :(

I have to say that despite my opinion on TASM films, the decision to change Gwen's death from "necksnap cause web-bounce" to "hit the ground cause web came half second too late" was a good choice. That's a kinda of creativity that I like from film directors.

@SpiderMiles

Movie has been out for months... No worries on the spoiler, especially since the trailer gave it away. That, and I've read almost every review and article and editorial about the film. Spoilers don't bother me.

I just meant that that GIF is pretty sad to look at. I'm surprised they showed it up close like that.

Of course they had a plan. The director even said that he knew if he were to use Gwen Stacy then they would have to do her death too.

This isn't even a theory, its fact.

@ManCalledSting

Better than the Raimi's films.

We would all prefer you to stop making bogus comments if you can't elaborate on them or use evidences to back up your statements. If you keep doing this, you'll come off to be Jollem v2.0

@dethpillow

BTW Merc there are **SPOILERS** here

One of the main things that I can't stand about the movie version of Gwen's death is also that they ruined a perfect chance to add more depth to Peter Parker's character....

Instead of making Peter flawed and responsible for Gwen's death, they had Gwen say "It's my choice" for being there, it's her choice for getting involved, which pretty much absolves Peter of any guilt, because no matter how hard he tries to keep Gwen out of the situation, she still finds a way to get involved....

The fact that she arrives at the scene of the Electro final battle in a cop car before any of the cops, is also hilarious and just bad writing.... Gwen's death was handled so much better in the comics and it's such a big part of who Peter Parker is, why he questions situations, his relationship with the Green Goblin.... Sony ruined it.

Speaking for TASM1, yup, a lot better than Raimi's crap.

A) Stone is still hotter.
B) I typically avoid any girl with the word suicide in her name, but that's just me.

DeHaan is a great young & rising actor. He's going to be around for a while.

This has nothing to do with you. I respect your personal preference, and at least you can offer reasons and details to back up your opinions. It's some people like Mancalledsting and Jollem who can't do that, which pretty much pinches my nerves every time I see their comments.

The cast of F4 is made up of extremely talented young actors, which makes it all the more weird when you think about all the hate they're getting. I mean if they're going to go young like that, at least they got a hell of a cast.
