"Sony Hack": Script for Sinister Six Completed; Two Spider-Man movies Scheduled in 2016 and 2017

Sony's Sinister Six movie looks to be inching closer to reality with 2 Spidey films in Sony's release slate. What does this entail for Andrew Garfield and the Spider-Man franchise?

The Business Insider has uncovered emails that the script for Sony's Spider-Man spin off "Sinister Six" was due for submission on December 8th; which if everything were on schedule, the script would have been submitted less than a week ago.

Also uncovered in the emails were lists of Sony's release schedule that states a film simply titled "Sinister" is still due out in 2016, and another movie just titled "Spider-Man" due out in 2017 - it is unclear what the 2017 Spider-Man movie is about.

Having a script doesn't mean the movie has been green lit.

Head of Sony Picture's Amy Pascal expresses her lack of confidence for the spin off claiming: "I'm not sure Sinister Six is the way to go without its own [Marvel] Universe".

Still getting a script produced shows the state of desperation encroaching Sony to get a film out to keep the creative control over Spider-Man in-house.

What happens with Andrew Garfield which earlier reports stated Sony had the actor "fired" from his Spider-Man contract? Where will the Spider-Man franchise go from here?

Article about Sony's hacked emails that makes the TASM movies look bad?

"Rumors. Fan-casting. Wait for official statements."

Aricle about Sony's hacked emails that talks about the TASM franchise continuing on?

@Pasto Ha, I don't think "logic" has anything to do with that particular mindset.

If they bring this franchise back up to its feet I will be pleased, but if it bombs and crumbles even further I will LMFAO and it will be a huge ""Told you so; Should have made the deal and let Marvel help""

Yay...

2016's too crowded for Sinister Six. Not sure where Sony can put it anyway.

@Snooper- only because the same formula has been used over and over again in every single movie. The character himself has way more potential. Sony just have no idea wtf they're doing

@Pasto Unfortunately it is the mindset of a lot of adults, too. You have to love an age where you can have your news custom tuned to your personal views. I love how Henry Rollins put it, "When you're 12, its ok to be a whiney self-centered little prick, because hopefully you will grow out of it. It is unfortunate that most people grow into it."

@EzioKenway1225 - Exactly. Add Star Trek 3, Skull Island, Apes 3 and a Star Wars Spin-Off and there aint much room for any big genre film, let alone another superhero movie

You guys are so wrong. TASM franchise is in a better state than ever before. I mean just look how prosperous it has become:

-TASM2 was the lowest grossing Spider-Man film ever made.
-TASM2 is the worst reviewed Spider-Man film ever made. Only one to be designated rotten on Rotten Tomatoes.
-TASM3 removed from its June 2016 release to an undetermined 2018 release.
-TASM4 removed from calender altogether.
-Sinister Six is least anticipated comic book movie of 2016.

If that's not a bright future, I don't know what is.
