Spider-Man: No Way Home concluded on a bittersweet note for our Friendly Neighbourhood Web-Slinger, who gave up his best friend and the love of his life in order to prevent the catastrophic fallout of Doctor Strange's botched spell.
Peter ultimately decided not to reconnect with MJ and Ned, and instead focus on his crime-fighting career as Spider-Man without having to worry about the well-being of his loved ones.
In a way, this would have served as a fitting send-off for Tom Holland's version of the iconic hero, but No Way Home made all of the money, so another movie always seemed like an inevitability.
Now, Kevin Feige has made it official.
During an in-depth interview with EW about the future of the MCU, Feige confirmed that a fourth Spider-Man film is in the very early stages of development.
"All I will say is that we have the story. We have big ideas for that, and our writers are just putting pen to paper now."
Not much to go on, but it's nice to finally have confirmation that Holland will return to the role. Whether he'll be joined by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield remains to be seen, but Marvel/Sony would probably be wise not to attempt a rehash of No Way Home and allow Holland to take charge without any Variant back-up this time.
