Spider-man Fan(Type)cast

Spider-man Fan(Type)cast

Saw this movie a while ago. It stars a fan favorite pick for Peter Parker as well as a cast of actors who could easily fill out some of the roster from the comics.

The First Time (2012)

Written and directed by Jon Kasdan this is the story of
"A shy senior and a down-to-earth junior fall[ing] in love over the weekend."

The cover gives away a few obvious picks, so without further ado:

Dylan O'Brien as Peter Parker
In the movie O'Brien plays Dave, the shy senior. For a substantial runtime, Dave pines over a girl with whom he discovers might not ever share a meaningful conversation.

Britt Robertson as Gwen Stacy
She portrays the down-to-earth junior, Aubrey. Aubrey is perceptive, elonquently speaks her mind and is an all around creative individual. At the start of the flick, she has a boyfriend, things go awry and it leads to her swaying towards the budding relationship with Dave.

James Frecheville as Eddie Brock
Aubrey's older than high school boy friend, Ronny, is a "pretentious" Psych major. He ends up being a dick at a party, gives Dave a quick push, and is subsequently forced to leave with his girl.

Victoria Justice as Mary Jane Watson
Jane is Dave's crush who isn't developed much beyond the multi-hookup girl and the girl who resents them all because the guys were "jerk weeds". Her attempted romance with Dave is cut short after he couldn't sit through another of her trite rants.

Craig Roberts as Harry Osborn
One of Dave's best friends, Simon, encourages Dave to get with Aubrey. He's also the jokester of Dave's trio and quickest to act after Dave was assaulted by Ronny.

Lamarcus Tinker as Randy Robertson
Big Corporation is Dave's calm and collected buddy. Although, he doesn't have many lines, whether it's an ironically funny sigh or the stolid presence of a "bouncer" his gestures speak volumes. He also straight talked Dave before the final scene.

Halston Sage as Sally Avril/Liz Allan
Her role as Brianna was so minimal I forgot she was even in this. Nonetheless, Sage has experience with being the hottie that leads or swings with the popular clique.

Matthew Fahey as Flash Thompson
I don't recall seeing Jane's ex boyfriend, Brent, but he does look the part for the role.

Joshua Malina as Capt George Stacy
Aubrey's dad isn't a very stern nor stoic paternal figure. However, he's a suitable portrayal of a loving father.

Christine Taylor as Helen Stacy
Aubrey's loving mother is the slightly stricter parent.

The movie, itself, was a decent, cliched teen romance that forced tension at pivotal points. Comment below to let me know what you thought of this fancast.

Love this movie!
Wow, but I never realised how much the characters do in fact mirror Spidey characters.

Even in a Spidey film, Britt would be a wonderful Gwen and Victoria Justice could definitely play MJ.
I'm never sold on Dylan as Peter but I wouldn't mind him playing him here. Yeah, the rest of the cast I love too. I need to re watch this!

Honestly dyl and lamarcus were the best part of this otherwise pretty crappy movie. Still disappointed that Dylan didn't get the role but oh well. Tom'll do fine too I guess
