MARVEL'S SPIDER-MAN: New Sneak Peek At The Animated Series' Take On The SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN Arc

Much of the Marvel Animation panel at San Diego Comic-Con this year was dedicated to celebrating the animation studio's 50 years of existence, and it served as a tribute to the late Stan Lee. But towards the end, the audience were reminded that new episodes of Marvel's Spider-Man, Disney XD's animated series, will premiere this September.

Season 3 of the animated series was announced in May and will be titled Marvel's Spider-Man: Maximum Venom. It's slated to premiere in spring 2020.

However, to hold fans over, Disney XD will air a five-episode mini-series that explores the Superior Spider-Man story arc. Premiering in September, Marvel released a sneak peek at the first episode, "My Own Worst Enemy."

Now in Peter Parker/Spider-Man’s body, Doc Ock intends to use his new spider-powers to get revenge on anyone who ever wronged him. But he’s shocked to discover that some of Peter Parker’s memories are left over in his new brain, including memories of Uncle Ben’s life lessons. Now understanding the reasons Peter Parker became a hero, Doc Ock vows to continue Spider-Man’s mission, but to become even better… To become the Superior Spider-Man!

The Superior Spider-Man comic book series — written by Dan Slott — ran from January 2013 through August 2014 for 33 issues.

As for Season 3 of the animated series, it will see Parker pushed to his breaking point "when Venom summons an earth-shattering threat from its home planet."

Look out for Marvel's Spider-Man to return to Disney XD this fall with the Season 2 Superior Spider-Man arc - followed by the premiere of Season 3, Maximum Venom, in spring 2020.

lmaooo I LOVE Superior spider-man with all my heart. Maybe I'll check this out. I know it's a kids show but just this clip was actually kinda fun. He's talking exactly how Otto as Peter would talk. Kinda hype lol

Just finished rewatching Spectaular the other day

I think it genuinely might be the best adaptation of Spidey outside of the comics

Pretty cool scene, about how I expecting him to react. I still need to watch this new season, and catch up. Also, I got to toss something in here.

I know the popular opinion is to hate on this show, but I'm actually enjoying it. Could Peter be mature, and tone down on the nerd talk for the GA? Sure, might make things better with having to show us he's a nerd instead of telling us through dialogue such as "Now if I take in from this angle, going at this velocity..." that would be good. However, this is a different take of Spider-Man, and I still like it.

Hell, things could be worse. We could still have Peter Griffen as Deadpool... I mean Ultimate Spider-Man with Drake Bell. Couldn't even last one minute on that trite without having to stop watching. The way that show was written and directed, drove me insane.
