I loved those episodes. Donald Glover was perfect as Miles Morales and deserves his own show.

These shows don't have the multi-age appeal that shows like EMH or the Timmverse had but when you look at the shows that are popular right now - Adventure Time, Regular Show etc - these shows fit right in. I enjoyed the Spiderverse arc even if the motivation of the heavy (no spoilers here) was a bit perplexing. Glover nailed it as Miles though and I really enjoyed Spidey 2099.

I really don't mind the kiddy version, since the past incarnations of Spider-Man cartoons have told all the good stories. If I wanted to watch Spectacular Spidey all over again (and I still do from time to time) it's avaliable on youtube. But once you give this show a chance, you realize that it gets better all the time.
For instance, the Disney version of Nightmare (the Dr Strange villain) is a hundred times scarier than he's ever been in the comics.
