Hey everyone. Well we are getting hit up with a lot of Spider-man news recently. We got the first images of Julie Taymor's Broadway version of Spider-man, which has tons of fans confused, angry, and scared. We are getting plenty of new interviews from Andrew Garfield about how he is gonna portray Peter Parker/Spider-man in the Marc Webb reboot, which some here, including myself, are getting some optimism about it. Also this past week Spider-man: Shattered Dimension came out and is a joy to play for fans. We also go the end of One Moment In Time, which more or less has many calling a cop out or a bad ending, yet I like most things I see, I give most things a chance and see how it more or less is the beginning to getting Peter back to being Peter. So I quickly covered Comics, Movies, Games, and Musical...so that just leaves Television...boy talk about spreading your image in all forms of entertainment.

Spider-man has been in the television form plenty of times. It seems that every decade has had their share of the heroic web crawler. The best known was the 90s Spider-man which was done by Saban Entertainment, which was also the company behind Power Rangers, and the most recent was Spectacular Spider-man, which had a huge fan base also, but sadly cut down in its prime and never got a chance to complete. So as they finished with the Weisman version, Disney and Marvel have begun to create there next installment in the Spider-man animated versions, and its being called Ultimate Spider-man, which had many fans believing that we are gonna get an abridged or well done adaptation of the Ultimate Universe Spider-man. However, we had new interviews by some of the people behind it, saying that its half adaptation and half new stuff. Those things were said to be other Heroes coming in as cameos or teaming up with the young hero. The new team behind Ultimate Spider-man are Man of Action, the guys who made Ben10, the original creator Brian Michael Bendis, and the great Paul Dini. These are the driving force behind what could potentially be the second best animated comic book hero, the first being obviously Batman: The Animated Series. So what besides these things could make this good, well that's what I'm gonna do....I'm gonna do a top 5 reasons why this series will succeed.

#5. Having the creator working on it: this seems pretty obvious so that's why I put it so low. Brian Michael Bendis was the original creator of the Ultimate Spider-man series, having him apart of the development team allows him to decided to essentially stays, goes, and allows new things to come in, that can still feel part of his creative vision with the comic title.

#4. Cameos and team ups: In one of the recent interviews, of of the shows creators said that Spider-man will be meeting up with familiar faces and new characters to the universe. So we could see Spidey meeting up with Iron man and perhaps see the Iron Spider-man outfit as a joke outfit, or perhaps Spider-man teams up with the X-men again, or meet plenty of other cools characters. They are keeping that a secret until we get closer to seeing production stills and first images and trailers.

#3. Man of Action: One thing best about the team of Man of Action is that they handle a great balance between action and story telling. I'm sure you all have seen some form of Ben10, which to me the original pre-timeskip was the best at balance action, humor, and story telling. So given there background at doing an original(yes I know its based of Dial H for HERO) show for any age, the aliens for the kiddies and the story telling and action for the maturer.

#2. Disney backing: We all know who Disney are. We all grew up on them and our children will grow up to love and appreciate. Disney has the golden touch, we all know this, look at all their shows that made them loads of cash, if you thought Miley Cyrus made nearly a Billion dollars in one year, Disney made nearly twice that thanks to her. However the one aspect they haven''t drawn in is the male audience, excluding PIXAR, a good majority of Disney movies are about female characters, while the male audience gets humanized animals. With Spider-man and the Avengers they have now that new market to gain a niche to then reap all the benefits from the merchandising they will surely do in a matter of months after the shows are released.

#1. PAUL DINI IS ON THE TEAM: This to me is like hitting the lottery for animated shows. This could only get better is if Genndy Tartakovsky is doing the artwork, I think people's head would explode if that were to happen. Paul Dini is a genius writer and was the main force in the Batman animated series, and is now the writer for the amazing Zatanna title over at DC, which was a shock to me that he dealt with a lot of DC and now he's heading over to help with Marvel....talk about adding tension....but still, this could mean that we will have some amazing story telling and amazing writing in these episodes. This pretty much guarantee's that the show will appeal to the adult sensibility and yet children will watch because its Spider-man, yet the characters will be treated like actual teens, and not an exaggeration of modern teens

A few other things I want them to keep, JOSH KEATON must return for the role. He was amazing as Peter/Spider-man in Spectacular Spider-man and voiced Ultimate Spider-man in Shattered Dimension...SO HE'S PERFECT FOR IT!!!! I want the show to appeal to a child's enthusiasm for the show whenever it airs and to appeal to the die hard comic fans who like seeing new takes on their favorite characters. Don't make the show all action oriented, keep it well balanced of telling a good story and having good action beats.

So we still have an entire year before the show even premieres and its most likely that we are gonna see the first images and teasers at the 2011 San Diego Comic-con or if we are lucky we may get some news during the commercials of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Lets hope that this is the right combination of powerful forces to bring the best incarnation of the animated Spider-man shows. Catch you all later, Aki87 out.

@deadpool...that show was pretty good, it was sad they canceled, although I don't think that had anything to do with Disney, Quesada said that they had troubles with the other half of the production company and it was a falling out. Maybe we will see a new X-men show in the works after Ultimate Spider-man

I might be one of the few people that LOVE the Ultimate universe sometimes more than the regular universes. Ultimate Spiderman was written, and executed beautifully, and I'm happy that there's a cartoon in the works but also that the reboot will have elements from it. Can't wait!

@anil....lets hope it stays true to the Ultimate Universe. I'm curious about the team-ups. My guess the Fantastic 4, Daredevil, and Doctor Strange might be some key cameos. My guess its most of the East Coast heroes that live in NYC

Nice article Aki87. I thought Spectacular was okay, (pale in comparison to the 90's show.) Hopefully this show will not forever take place in high school.

@destroyer...the 90s version had to keep out a lot of things Batman did. They omitted deaths, bullets, and blood. Mary Jane never died, she just went to another dimension, same with the guns, instead of bullets, energy beams?...Hopefully Ultimate Spider-man adds some mature tones

Great article! I'm a big supporter of Ultimate Spider-man and I'm glad you got a chance to look deeper into this animated series. Anyone who doesn't know who Paul Dini is should look him up on IMDB right now! this guy has been a part of a TON of great content you know and love:

-Arkham Asylum
-Ben10
-Batman: The Animated Series
-Justice League/Justice League Unlimited
-Batman Beyond
-Duck Dodgers

That's just a sampling. but basically his best stuff came during the Bruce Timm DC animated dynasty years.

@Mrmo...thanks man, I just love seeing animated superhero shows....the only except in that is Super Hero Squad, which is for real hard core fans of Marvel. Plus Batman: Brave and the Bold is kinda hit or miss with me, its enjoyable at most, but nothing groundbreaking, its much better than THE BATMAN

If they do base this off of the Ultimate Universe I sure as hell hope they fix how some of the villians look. Thats the one thing I hated about the Ultimate Spider Man Comic.

Also If they have Deadpool pop up at all he better not be like his ultimate version what so ever! Either do Deadpool right or not at all...

But I am excited about Paul Dini on this project I loved what he did with Batman lets hope he can make Spider Man just as good!
