The Classic Suit From Sam Raimi's SPIDER-MAN Is Now Available For The PlayStation 4 Video Game

Since Marvel's Spider-Man's release in September, many fans of Insomniac Games' acclaimed PlayStation 4 exclusive have been asking the studio to add a new suit inspired by Sam Raimi's Spider-Man to the game. Despite Insomniac's claims that they are not obligated to do exactly what the fans want, the players’ prayers have been heard, as you can don the suit in Marvel's Spider-Man right now!

Yes, Insomniac has decided to catch the community by surprise and just announced that the beloved suit from the first Columbia Pictures' Spider-Man movie is now available in the video game. Even better, you won't have to pay a single penny to get it, as the suit is coming to Marvel's Spider-Man in a free patch, which is about 4GB.

Considering that Sam Raimi's reimagination of the classic Spider-Man suit is widely regarded as one of the best (if not the best) movie adaptations of Spidey's outfit, this unexpected move is a very nice Christmas present to all the fans who have been asking for the suit in the best-selling title, and judging from the screenshot below, the studio did a truly amazing job digitizing the outfit

As a reminder, the last chapter in Marvel's Spider-Man: The City that Never Sleeps DLC series will drop tomorrow, focusing on Silver Sable, who is back in town and has some score-settling with the villainous Hammerhead. Helping Sable in her mission to take Hammerhead down won't be the only new feature of the Silver Lining expansion, as the paid DLC will also give you an opportunity to don three new suits: the Aaron Aikman suit, Cyborg Spider-Man suit, and the Into the Spider-Verse suit.

Be sure to take a look at Insomniac Games' version of Sam Raimi's classic Spider-Man suit down below:

@doomsday619 - I guess the devs gave into the demand. there was a huge demand and petition to get Raimi's spider-man costume into the game. The devs gave fans an attitude about the request, then the fans called them out on twitter. I guess some devs may have lost their job and fans got raimi's costume for free....what a wonderful life.

@mastakilla39 - have a link to this tweet with attitude?

@XelCorp - https://www.polygon.com/2018/12/20/18149881/spider-man-ps4-raimi-suit-free-insomniac-games

Basically Insomniac was open for suggestions of new suits and fans highly demanded the Raimi suit. Upon the release of each dlc the raimi suit was still missing so many fans felt they were mislead into paying for a season pass believing that Insomniac was going to offer the Raimi suit as DLC. With no official confirmation of the Raimi suit fans began attacking and harassing the devs on twitter until Insomniac responded:

“Listening doesn’t mean we always will do what people tell us to,” “We hear you. Hearing doesn’t mean we always act or follow.”

One Fan said: “Don’t you see you’re disappointing many fans by trash suits?”
Insomniac responds: “We don’t feel any of the suits we have released are ‘trash’ or anything close to it. All of them were selected by our team for reasons and had a lot of love and effort put into them.”

These tweets started buzzing on gaming websites so Insomniac caved in and gave the Raimi suit for "free". Fans shouldn't have harassed the developers because thats [frick]ed up. But knowing Insomniac they were probably just going to save it as an exclusive dlc for the next set of episodes fans would of have to pay for again to get as the new gaming trend is to have more than 1 season pass now which is also stupid in my opinion.

@mastakilla39 - are there more dlc missions planned after Silver Lining? Thought it was just the three. I mean, they gotta save something for the inevitable sequel.

@sharkman03191 - no official word yet but I wouldn't rule it out as a possibility. Marvel's Spider-Man is still too popular to not get any more DLC beyond those 3 episodes in my opinion.

Spider-Man (2002) changed my life. I was 7 when I first saw it. Because of it I love superheroes and movies as much as I do now.

@MasterMix - Spiderman (2002) is the GODFATHER OF MODERN CBMS imo. Nothing against Blade or Xmen (actually im down on Xmen), but Raimi showed what these films could be.

Spiderman 2 changed the game in ways that are still poignant today.

Raimi pretty well nailed the Spiderman suit in 2002. It's stupid imo that they keep feeling the need to change it.

This is one of those comments that came from my heart, but then my brain kicked in and I realize there's always room for improvement. It is my personal favorite in the movies though.

Just bought the game. Haven't been able to play much, but the little I did was pretty great.

I kind of suck at the fighting so far, though...
