Amidst praise, hate, and "meh's" for Jared Leto's portrayal of classic DC supervillain Joker, a recently released fan film by the Hallivis Brother's aims to show fans a take on the Joker that Warner Bros. probably will never have the balls to release. In this NSFW fan film inspird by the work of Scott Snyder, the Joker gets a fresh new take that many fans might've been looking for in Suicide Squad. Released only 2 days before Suicide Squad, The Laughing Man has already recieved almost 300,000 views. Based on the comment section, it's been recieved better by fans than SS as well.
Speaking with No Film School, Director Diego Hallivis said this about the film: "We wanted to tell a story that centered on the Joker without Batman showing up to save the day. A story that didn’t need to be PG-13 for commercial reasons...We knew we had to push it and do something very gory, something studios won’t do." He also said they were inspired by Jake Gylenhaal's performance in the critically acclaimed Nightcrawler to portray Joker as a "raw, crazy, psychopath." Check out the fan film below!
