Brandon Routh for superman
BryEL
BryEL - 4/16/2010, 9:59 AM
To be honest, none of them. Can't use Brandon cause he was just there to help carry on the Reeves Superman, but as for a whole new reboot, none of these guys.

Probably the toughest question in the entire CBM universe.

Is there an "Other" option? I blame Routh's performance in "Returns" on the script and Singer. They wanted him to act that way. I'd like to see him get another chance, but it ain't gonna happen. I'm not huge on any of those choices. I think their gonna have to go with some unknown plucked from obscurity.

I would rather choose Tom Welling.

He Keven, with that face it looks like you blow. Heh. Routh for Supes. I thought he did good with what he had. There was actual distinction between Supes and Kent. A lot of people say, "He's a perfect Superman" for random dudes, but the guy also has to fit as Clark Kent. Other than Cavill is probably the only one that could look the part of Kent and Superman, but I liked Routh, just didn't like the movie.

Josh Hartnett would be the best Superman I think, He's got great leader skills, look at Black Hawk Down, and he can act great.

I vote John Barrowman for the Big Blue Schoolboy.

I want to see James Caviezel as Superman and Billy Zane as Lex.

@BmanHall - no s***, who in HELL clicked for Tatum!

None of the above. I have a choice that is way left field, but I think this actor has a decent enough look and would do phenomenally in the role, but I'm waiting to release my Trinity cast.

Nah man. Don't want to give it away. It's a choice I have never ever seen anyone suggest, and I'm still working on my cast, so I still want to preserve any originality the pick may have.

Jim Caviezel would be a good choice for Supes but if this is a origin story i would say Henry Cavill.

Aw shit, folks, this is a tough one...A reeeeal tough one. o'_'o ....Aw man...

Brandon Routh, hell no, he killed the man of steel's image.

Henry Cavill...mmmmaaaaaaybe...maybe.

Matt Bomer...why are we considering him again? I mean if he was 6'2", yeah, but it's just not gonna happen.

Channing Tatum, oh God....why? Why couldn't we have just gotten this guy to play Captain America?...But no, he would be a better Cap than a Supes.

Josh Hartnett, a big maybe, and more of a lean towards yes compared to the others. His eyes seem wonky, though. Actually Henry Cavill is starting to sound really good right about now.

DJ Catrona, HAH! Oh F(@@@@@@@@)ck- NO!

Screw this, screw it. Give it to Henry Cavill, final answer.

Uh, damn, people...**rubbing his eyes behind his glasses in annoyance**
Why are so many of you voting for Brandon Routh? Are you in the closet for him or what? He doesn't even have real blue eyes, and he couldn't be bothered to finish his training to be built enough for the role...

Here, let me remind you....

I want Josh Hartnett as Superman, he embodies the character best out of all the choices listed. I don't want Brandon Routh to EVER return to the role. And Hartnett just retains a bit of the classic Superman-look and charm while having the height and acting-chops to pull it off well.

And yeah I agree with "canadianturd" Billy Zane would be an EPIC Lex Luthor! :) he reminds me of the STAS Lex Luthor (Superman the animated series) very smart/charming/evil businessman. So get Hartnett vs. Zane for the reboot!!

Once again why is there no "NONE OF THE ABOVE" option?

Pollsters - think of your audience. There's ALWAYS another option.

And what r0r5ch4ch84 said.
LP4
LP4 - 4/17/2010, 3:49 PM
Yeah "KeithM" i agree with you, being that there are other options available and knowing Chris Nolan, he'll probably go with a choice that's completely unexpected and unknown.

And as for "ror5ch4ch84" I totally agree with EVERYTHING you said. Especially the parts concerning Brandon Routh and Josh Hartnett.

none of the above. Sorry. Routh was good but needs to put on a lot more weight. He didn't have enough lines to show his abilities in Superman Returns. But I don't think he really has the look.
From what I understand, girls are supposed to look at superman and immediately start swooning over him. Routh doesn't have that affect. Again, I did like him, But just not my first pick.

Henry Cavill is the best choice out of those
but I went back and looked at some older fan casts
I think HAWK had said Chris Hemsworth
if he wasn't already doing Thor I'd choose him for the role

Kinda surprised Tom Welling isn't an option. I don't want him to be Superman in a movie, but a lot of Smallville fans actually want that to happen. I think their main reason is that they've watched him as Clark Kent growing up for 9 (possibly 10) seasons, so they just want a final movie to see him off as Superman. Even though, if I recall, Tom Welling doesn't want to wear the suit. Ever.

Anyway, I kinda wouldn't mind Brandon Routh. He didn't seem too bad as Clark Kent/Superman (okay, I admit that I only watched Superman Returns once, so I don't remember much about it), and he does kinda look the part. Looks kinda similar to Christopher Reeve, at least. I say give him another shot. Have a proper cast, a proper script, hell, a proper production team, and let's see if he really can pull off being Superman.

@Nicholsy: I agree with Olivia Wilde being Lois Lane only because I like Olivia Wilde (she's just great as Remy Hadley/Thirteen in House; can't wait to see Tron) lol I don't know if she would be a perfect casting choice for Lane, but I still like Wilde. I'm okay with her being in any movie.

That's great! Awesome.

@ KeithM and LP4- You guys are beautiful man, you're beautiful. Thank you, thank you very much for agreeing with me.
And what's up with considering Josh Hartnett? Wonky eyes, man, wonky. And he looks a little bit "too classic" in the looks department for a Superman role. I'll have to honestly say Henry is really our best choice. That is, unless you can get josh to stop fricken' squinting. I mean, he looks more like a better choice for Mr.Spock.
