Not only does Doomsday crash the party, but Lana (Kristin Kreuk) will finally make an appearance this season.

Here's the synopsis for "Bride", the Smallville episode that will be airing tonight on the CW:

It's Chloe (Allison Mack) and Jimmy's (Aaron Ashmore) wedding day and the two prepare to walk down the aisle at the Kent farm.

Meanwhile, Oliver (Justin Hartley) tells Clark (Tom Welling) he thinks he's discovered where Lex is hiding and takes off to Cuba to confront him. However, when he arrives, Oliver is shocked to find Lana (Kristin Kreuk) instead.

Clark and Lois (Erica Durance) grow closer but chaos ensues when Doomsday crashes the wedding and tries to kidnap Chloe.

Jeannot Szwarc directed the episode written by Al Septian & Turi Meyer.

Great... Doomsday makes it on an idiot show. But no one has the balls to put him on the big screen... Beautifull. As if that show has the budget to even remotly do him justice. WB/DC, you're nothing but a bunch of cowards. From now on, content yourselves by eating Marvel's dust.

Nicely put. I like the original idea of the show, and I believe Tom Welling does a decent job at portraying a teenaged superman...But, when did this become a Soap Opera? How the HELL is Doomsday involved? and since WHEN did every superhero live in smallville?

I have to say that I *was* a HUGE Smallville fan for the first few season ... The last two seasons have been almost unbearable. I'm crossing my fingers that they don't totally ruin Doomsday, but after seeing what they did with Supergirl, I'm not holding my breath.

I like the show but I think Doomsday gonna look like some black amorphous (sp?) blob. And I don't think the Doomsday vs. Superman idea that's in thecomics will be brought up in the show. Eh, I'm hoping it'll be cool...

P.S. I noticed that a lot more people are commenting ever since the gat superhero article. That's pretty awesome!

Okay, don't hate me guys, but I actually like the show. It's nowhere near as enjoyable as it was to begin with, but they take a lot of chances. Besides, Smallville is the only thing that has given life to live-action superman mythos since the 80's Superflicks! For instance, Shaman, check this out: You're right, WB/DC didn't have the balls to actually put Doomsday or anyone else decent, on the big screen with Superman, so at least Smallville is trying. I mean, I seriously don't think Smallville is anywhere near as bad as Superman Returns! A $200 Million dollar TRIBUTE to Superman: The Movie! It was horrible. At least we see some action on Smallville. Also, I think the cast does a great job, and Erica Durrance is a great Lois! Just take the show with a grain of salt...something to hold you over until a decent movie is made!

I love Smallville, probly clark will trap doomsday with jor-el help, because he was too unbeatable. Then in another episode when it's time to put on the Superman costume, Lex will unleash Doomsday. This time the fight should last the whole episode, until the part when both of them die and before it goes to the credits they show clarks cape ripped and on a stick. They cant put that out cuz the ripped cape is the exciting part.

I agree with DurkinKnight.. it's the best thing we've got right now and its decent enough to be enjoyable

I don't mind changing the story line a little bit, but this is way passed a comic story line. Thou I will still watch it, I don't necessarly agree with it. Change can be good, but this is going to far. I would love to see a DoomsDay Darkside SuperMan movie if it will go on further on the big screen.

This change sucks, Just like Rogue & Iceman in the X-men movies--that is going completely off the Map.

Geez alot of smallVille fans here. LoL. I don't think the show is that bad. It's lasted this long for a reason. I guess we are the harshest crtics because we are comic fans, but they said it from the begining, it was going to be a different take on Clark Kent in his early years. Everyone is holding it up to a crazy high standard, when all and all the show is entertaining, even for people who dont read comics.

Its too late now, but if you guys would have given Season 7 a shot I think you would have seen that it is nothing like the previous seasons. The new writers and producers have created what is almost an entirely new show. It is basically a prequel to "Lois & Clark" now, as opposed to some campy teen soap opera with super heroes.

That said, I am worried about Doomsday, it is such a hit or miss undertaking, and I just don't think they have the budget to pull it off. I am hoping for the best, but bracing for the worst. It will be good to see how the new writing team addresses a big battle, hopefully this big lead up won't lead to a 10 second battle like in previous seasons.

Im a smallville fan and im sure im gunna catch alot of heat for this, but I think its a really cool way reinventing the whole superman legacy. (Clark & Lex friends from way back, seeing him get his powers in stages, and sleeping with Lana, heck I thought he was virgin his whole life) I just wish they call the show metropolis and have him be Superman already. They probably wont but I hope so. And so do you grif. You know you watched Lois and Clark. Dont even lie. Just finished watching the doomsday episode. Very let down. No brawl, Just Clark getting smacked around like $2 hooker. Come on guys, give him a cape and a pair of b@#ls already.

I don't doubt I will be destroyed when you guys read this but...

When Smallville was created they said they wanted an out of the box type show. Nothing exactly like the comic books. They wanted to do their own thing and say that from the beginning. Thus far, no flight, no cape. They said he will won't wear the cape or fly during the show. I would think they end Smallville altogether with him in his suit, or him being destroyed, but the creators were very clear from the start that it wasn't a typical comic book following. (Thus doomsday before CK even calls himself superman or wears the cape...)

Feel free to bash my face in... I too am a rather large smallville fan...

Edit: I want the show to go the dark route and end with Doomsday killing CK, I know a lot of people want it to end with him standing on the Planet in suit. I disagree.

Okay I'll just have to flat out say it…I hate TV. I hate having to commit to a show every week like it's a religion. I hate having my life revolve around a show schedual. What I am is a MOVIE buff. I'm not saying that Smallville is a bad show, I saw a few episodes which were cool, I'm saying I'm tired of what WB/DC sellect as good big screen stories versus tv show stories. All the previous Superman movies had to do with his double identity dilema and his stupid love life! Granted the 3 bad guys in Superman2 were cool but had a way too little part in the movie. Which is why I kinda like Superman Returns because it was a 2hr and a half movie about Superman and not Clark Kent. It's also why the Lois and Clark series were so popular, it was full of cool bad guys, it was chuck full of challenges and the whole series could be summed up to a shit load of SUPERMAN adventures!!! I want more, I need more and both tv series have proven that not only are we ready for it but we'll actually eat it up!!!

But look at what we are being sold here! This is DOOMSDAY we're talking about! It's Superman's END, not his origins!!! Welling is a panzy super boy, he's not a super MAN…yet! Oh what, you're gonna kill him as a boy and have him resurect as a man? Oh pooh!!! That is soooooo stupid, it's not even funny! Shit even the animated movie didn't do him justice. A medium where they could've gone all out but didn't! The first time I saw the trailor of the animated movie it was in the opening of my dvd copy of 300. I was soooo psyched that I was the first in line at opening time to get my copy and boy was I ever dissapointed! The animation was crappy compared to the new show(at that time) "the Batman", the fight scene wasn't all that long, his death was over all too quickly and where the hell was the Reign of the Supermen?!?!?!?!?!? Now I've had it!!! The only thing that could possibly do justice to DOOMSDAY is a big budget big screen Feautre film and I'm talking IMAX and nothing less!!! I'm sick of hearing WB/DC's excuses!!! Marvel pulled it off in Ironman and Incredible Hulk with Ironmonger and Abomination and Dreamworks pulled it off with Transformers so screww you DC/WB and the horse that brought ya! I will not be decieved any longer for I am a high paying customer!!!

I've hated this show from the beginning. the only thing it has in common with the Superman story is the names of the characters. Lex beginning as Clark's Friend? Lanna and Clark being romantically involved? The Justice league so soon? x ray and heat vision before learning to leap tall buildings in a single bound? Lois being the same age as Clark and meeting him before he started working at the daily planet? and now they introduce doomsday? they could at least make it a little accurate by having him kill clark but then just have clark not come back.
Shaman
Shaman - 11/21/2008, 3:11 PM
And so the show would end and Superman would've never existed. A bit phylosophical, tragic and not to mention revolutionary...i like it :))

In Doomsday's heart there could be a "omega 13" device, which in this specific case serves as an autodestruct mechanism that he himself would activate after realising that his reason for living was to find and destroy his one and only equal and after killing clark, he would notice that his mission is accomplished. His omega13 device upon activation would destroy the whole universe that includes this idiot show lacking of obvious sense and continuity with the existing history of superman. How's that?

Well, I saw the episode last night and it felt kinda slow to me. I didn't wanna see an episode all about the wedding. And Doomsday didn't look half as bad as I thought he'd look so I'm glad about that, though he only appeared for a couple of seconds. I wish there was a bit more action between Clark and Doomsday. It woulda been cool. But I guess that'll just have to wait til next week huh?

I can;t believe "fans" are getting mad because they have introduced Doomsday. Yes, the weathered battle hardened Doomsday from the comics would obliterate Clarkman, no questions asked, but the Doomsday on SV is not the Doomsday from the comics. SV is doing a Doomsday origin story. The SV Doomsday only died a handful of times before this first encounter with Clark. I predict that they are going to fight, maybe the LoS will help, and then Doomsday will be banished to where he will gain the experience necessary to off the red and blue blur. This is young Doomsday versus young Superman.

Again, with that said, I don't like how yet another classic villain is from Krypton, Brainiac, Bizarro, and Doomsday are not all supposed to be from the same planet.

Okay, I watched the episode and I have to say, I thought it was AWESOME!! For starters I'm 27, and I have seen roughly FIVE live action incarnations of Superman in my lifetime, plus the animated series. So, seeing the SAME take on Lois and Clark would be such overkill I would have an meltdown. But the idea of Lois falling in love with Clark and us not having to get past her whole obsession with Superman is great! She compliments Clark very well, and they have awesome chemistry. I always hated how Lois completely dissed Clark for Supes. She came across like a shallow bytch. NEXT I think Doomsday looked AWESOME!! And that scene where people could hear him on the roof and see the vibrations in the punch bowl...that was bad ass!! It's not the big screen event I hoped for, but it did entertain! I can't wait till January 15!!

Axeltkd- Well, that's probably the whole point. He took out all the major villains as a kid, hense the reason why there's nothing but Lex as a bad guy in all the 5 movies LOL. Makes sense...sucky sense but sense none the less.

HarrisonBergeron- Ah... I see. So the show is as much an origin of superman as it is an origin of Doomsday... Again, sucky sense but better than the alternative.

DurkinKnight- I love the point your making about Lois!!! I always hated her for that exact reason and always prefered Lana! And it is for that reason that i loved the movie script for the supposedly upcoming "Superman: the man of steel" Lana being Clark's love interest. So yet another upside to this peculiar show...

Hmmm... i guess it's not as bad as it may seem then... Still i'm never gonna be truly content unless i see the ultimate showdown on the big screen!

Doomsday looked amazing- I'm so glad they didn't just put a CGI mess on screen.

Why do so many people hate this show?
Shaman
Shaman - 11/24/2008, 10:06 AM
1- Cause it's a show and not a movie.
2- It's kid superman and we want Super"Man".
3- It doesn't fallow Superman's actuall origins whatsoever.
4- Has no continuity with the movies.
5- Is oriented towards a "teen" crowd and we comic book nutts are mostly between 20 and 40.
6- Marvel's universe is kicking DC's ass right now at the big screen and all DC has (superhero universely speaking) is this "show".

Did i leave anything out?

this episode was really good look to all those who say this show sucks and it has no relevance to the comic books well then STOP WATCHING THE SHOW Doomsday looked good and with the upcoming Legion of Superheroes episode coming up this show will bring some high ratings and by the way Dark Knight has been the best superhero movie so far so i think that the superhero movie battle is getting intense
Shaman
Shaman - 11/24/2008, 11:00 AM
Well fist off i don't watch the show and that doesn't meen i can't bitch because DC prefers to put Doomsday on TV instead of at the Boxoffice! I find my complaint is damn legitimate!

And if you examine the TDK movie as well as it's description offered by none other than it's director no less, the new Batman movies are a vision of what Batman would be in our real everyday life universe and is not in any way part of the DC universe where as Marvel's universe is taking over the freakin Boxoffice drastically! Shit Nolan even said that a Batman/Superman team up wouldn't be possible as the Batman movies weren't meant to fit the DC universe let alone a JLA possibility. All DC can do with JLA is a stupid teen movie. DC is slowly working on a supposedly dark Superman movie and has JACK on the board about a Batman 3 while Marvel is unleashing a killer ultimate combo that's gonna hit in 2011!!! Batman TDK however amazing it was, was merely a single jab in the fight for the boxoffice that we comicbook fans are watching.

WHATCHA GONNA DO BROTHER? WHEN MARVELMANIA RUNS WILD ON YOU?!?!?!?!?!

For those that have only seen this episode, and not the whole season, this was the worst episode of the season, IMO. It wasn't bad, but it was not indicative of the the "new" series. I blame the reappearance of Lana for this. I have read what they are going to do with her and think it could pay off well, but it ruined this episode. It made it seem too much like the previous "teen angst" seasons, which was out of place.

Well...nice of you to mention, dallas...

I saaaaaiiiiddd we're READY for it! We, the fans, the purists, are ready, willing, able and asking for his death on the big screen! How many years ago did his death take place in the comics huh??? IS HE DEAD TODAY??? How'bout NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Ever heard of his resurection? "Reign of the Supermen" ring any bells? Cyborg... Eradicator... Steel... SUPERBOY'S FREAKIN ORIGINS MABY!!!!! No?

ION! I got him in the figure 4!!! Use your leg drop!!!

It is not a far fetched idea to believe that his death could be well filmed in a blockbuster powerhouse feature film. The first half could be his bout with Doomsday, the middle being his death and all and the last half could be the Reign of Supermen! The Ultimate bad guy being Cyborg because as much as i want to see Paralax, it doesn't fit well in the continuity of the movies. But it could be the sequel to his death and it would give them the time to put out their Hal Jordan-Green Lantern movie... in this millenium hopefully!

Now does that sound idiotic to anybody????
