Fans Are Petitioning For A Smallville Live Action Season 11

Fans of the CW Superhero series Smallville went to Change.org, petitioning Warner Bros. Television to adapt the Smallville Season 11 comic into a season of TV.

Change.org is a website dedicated to starting campaigns, mobilizing supporters and just getting things done. This platform is used to group like-minded people and make projects possible. Smallville is the latest superhero show to be featured in this website.

"Clark finally became Superman and then it carried on as a comic book into Season 11 and ended with the miniseries," the petition observes. "This is just not right. Smallville should have ended as Live Action."

The comic books take place six months after the series finale and the series' time-jump takes place in 2018.

"Also at the end of Smallville Season 10 Finale Part 2, it is set in 2018," the petition reasons. "Which would actually make sense, if it was to be released back on TV in 2018."

The petition currently has 200 signatures, with 500 being their goal. It is highly unlikely 500 signatures will encourage Warner Bros. to bring back the show.

Tom Welling has stated that he has no interest in returning to the role of Clark Kent. A lead actress is facing legal issues who apparently does not factor here.

Currently, The CW airs five DC superhero shows: Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Black Lightning and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Would you like to see Smallville return to the small screen?

I think with the Alison Mack stuff this is unlikely at the moment. The cast are also getting too old to want to return. I'd be up for an animated movie or something though.

@Nightwing1015 - not that I’d want the show to return, but would Chloe really be needed in this show. If my memory serves me correctly she married green arrow and left. I mean I’d think Superman could survive without Chloe lol also it’s been 10 years they could replace her if they wanted a fan service.

@whynot - She may have married Oliver but she didn't really leave. She was Clark's best friend for 10 years. I don't think they'd fall out of contact. But I suppose if it was an animated movie they could say she was out of town or something.

@Nightwing1015 - Pete Ross left Lana left chloe could easily leave for a season. Hell they could kill her off and that be the end of it just have green arrow come back dark and say she was gunned down by a pimp in star city lol

Smallville really was the best network comic book TV show though. It's much better than the trash on the CW today.

@DIrishB - If not Smallville, then what is the best network comic book show? I was only expressing my disappointment that the CW shows fell form the greatness that they once were.

Anyway, Smallville is actually pretty faithful and respectful of DC source material. I agree Welling should have worn the suit but I guess he just didn't want to.

Thankfully Superman isn't a very emotional character so Welling's acting was fine.

@DIrishB - The Network has Agents of SHIELD and the Arrowverse TV series. I can't really say if any of those are better, or even as good as Smallville. Now if you go to cable and internet, then yeah. Smallville has massive competition.

Saw Tom Welling at a convention two weeks ago, he was asked if he would like to be in any other superhero show or movie as any character, he got up and walked off stage. He’s done and this will never happen!

I wouldn’t mind an animated series or some sort of cameo in the Arrowverse. As in like, they travel to their earth or the other way around.

Let’s be real here. This show has more bad seasons than good ones. I was obsessed with the show for the first 4 seasons but the moment they got to Metropolis and tried to make it a Superman show without Superman it completely fell apart

God, please no. That show ended in a terrible way, with awful special effects and a shadow of Superman.

No thanks. 10 seasons is enough.

I'd be more receptive to Tyler Hoechlin getting a Superman show.

I can understand where this is coming from. On the fifth anniversary of Man of Steel, the fortieth anniversary of Superman: The Movie, and the eightieth anniversary of Superman, we're getting Action Comics #1000 and... an animated movie about the death of Superman. Kind of like the one we already had years ago. I can understand why people would want something from Smallville as well. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter how many signatures you get.

I consider myself part of the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement, but I didn't sign the petition. Do you know why? No one reads these internet petitions, unless they are small enough for the petitions to matter to them. While Warner Bros. has made its fair share of mistakes, they are not small enough for internet petitions to matter to them.

Besides, the series creators had a definitive end to the series, and they finished it where they wanted to. Brian Q. Miller was the only one who really wanted to keep it going. That was the comic, and that's done too. You can only go so far with Smallville after Superman is Superman before you're just another Superman series. It would be neat, but the story is finished. They've all said what they want to say and have moved on. It's time we do too.

I think that a revival of "Lois & Clark", with Dean Cain and Terri Hatcher, has better chances of happening. Just like what they are doing with X-Files.

I can't see Welling or Rosenbaum wanting to do this, even if there was interest from a network. It would most likely be a CW series, but they've already got 4 (?) superhero shows running, 1 of which has another version of Superman as a recurring character. I'd say the best these people can hope for would be a creative guest role for Welling on Supergirl or Krypton.

I absolutely support this because we'd finally get to see Batman and Wonder Woman on the show!!! Welling has been embracing his Smallville roots lately. So he might consider finally wearing the Superman costume!!

If the live-action 11th season is a success, then the show might be renewed for more seasons just like how Will and Grace, the X-Files and Roseanne are doing right now!! A lot of people enjoyed the S11 comics. They'll love a live-action version even more!! This petition already hit 500 signatures. We just gotta keep spreading the word, so we can get this petition to reach 1,000 and beyond. That'll be enough to convince WB and The CW that we want this fantastic show back!!
