SMALLVILE Actress Allison Mack Released From Prison After Serving Two Years Behind Bars

We were all shocked to learn of former Smallville alum Allison Mack's involvement with the NXIVM cult, but the actress ended up getting off fairly lightly... all things considered.

After pleading guilty to racketeering charges - which could have landed her a 14-17 sentence under the current guidelines - Mack was handed a relatively light 36-month stretch that she began in September of 2021.

Now, after serving two years (she was always unlikely to do the full three) behind bars at FCI Dublin in the East Bay area outside San Francisco, Mack has been released from prison.

The actress was reportedly shown leniency due to her pivotal involvement in the investigation of NXIVM leader Keith Raniere, which ultimately contributed to his conviction. He is now serving 120 years behind bars for racketeering conspiracy charges, sex trafficking, forced labor conspiracy charges, and wire fraud conspiracy charges.

"It is now of paramount importance to me to say, from the bottom of my heart, I am so sorry," she wrote in a statement prior to starting her sentence. "I threw myself into the teachings of Keith Raniere with everything I had. I believed, whole-heartedly, that his mentorship was leading me to a better, more enlightened version of myself. I devoted my loyalty, my resources, and, ultimately, my life to him. This was the biggest mistake and greatest regret of my life."

Despite technically being a free woman, Mack will be on supervised release for another three years, and will be required to put in over 1000 hours of community service.

Mack played Clark Kent's best friend Chloe Sullivan in The CW's DC Comics-based drama series, appearing in all ten seasons.

White privilege still works, I see.

@CoHost - Naw it's San Francisco a highly Democratic State with a high volume for catch and release of criminals.

Also just cause she's free from jail everyone that does know her will give her a hard time there's no coming back from what she did. People are going to give her hell plus good luck finding a job too; I give her a year before she ends herself.

@CoHost - more like "I got dirt on a worse a hole" privilege. I'd even say pretty woman privilege before I'd say white privilege.

@CoHost - Tell me you're a race fixated moron, without telling me you're a race fixated moron.

Ahh, Americans. You'll make something like McDonald's vs Burger King into a race argument. 🙃

You know that's a no no!

@DarthAlgar - statistics show that whites get lesser punishments than blacks and Latinos for similar crimes. You just want him to shut up because it makes you uncomfortable.

@TheSuperMex - where are these statistics? Who are the AGs laying these unfair charges? Which judges are ruling in this way?
Origame

@TheSuperMex - under which point? The "she got dirt" point? Because that's literally what happened. She negotiated a plea deal with the information she had on the leader. Do you really think they wouldn't consider the deal if she wasn't white?

And if it's about the pretty woman privilege, if you believe in white privilege in terms of sentencing according to statistics then you must agree in woman privilege for the same reason.

@TheWinkler - which AGs are laying disproportionate charges on black people? Besides Kamala Harris of course.
TheWinkler
TheWinkler - 7/5/2023, 4:34 PM
@Ryguy88 - I'll answer your question with a question. Are you aware that "AGs" are just one part of a LARGE chain of people in power/authority that contribute to the problem? Hell yeah Kamala Harris is laying disproportionate charges on black people and is absolute scum, but the people who make the arrests and the judges that determine the sentencing are where the fight against it has to stop.

And look, I don't speak about these issues blindly or through the scope of Twitter popular opinions. I am a deep south Alabama native (former Republican and worship leader for a church) who spent a lot of time reading up on the systematic issues with race in our country after (and it's a sad fact that this was my push to educate myself) my mother remarried and had my little brother, who is of mixed race.

I'm not out here trying to say we gotta damn one party or another, because they all deserve to burn up. It's a big club, and we aint it.

@TheWinkler - I'm aware but Id like to put as many faces to the problem as possible instead of just lumping all of society in together.

@TheWinkler - I’d be interested to see if the statistics include consideration for repeat offensive. I’ll give you credit for admitting Harris is scum though. Most people posting your viewpoints refuse to call out the left.
TheWinkler
TheWinkler - 7/5/2023, 9:50 PM
@McGribble - I mean, the left is full of people who have these viewpoints and think Harris, Biden, and the whole lot are scum, it's just that none of them are in office, or they're few and far between.

Same goes for actual tried and true Republicans who viewed Trump as an embarrassment to the integrity of their party and what it stood for. Not a lot of them in the court.
TheWinkler
TheWinkler - 7/5/2023, 9:54 PM
@Ryguy88 - I'm not lumping all of society together. I'm saying that corruption is widespread and these issues would are a far more rooted in issue dating back decades than just a corrupt politician or 20.

@Matador - before she ends herself? Wow that’s dark. People screw up, it happens. Maybe this will make her a better person. Isn’t that what we all want? To be the best versions of ourselves? Are you living your best version?
McGribble
McGribble - 7/6/2023, 7:08 AM
@TheWinkler - This is interesting because I think you and I are coming at things from different sides but can agree on the widespread corruption. I will say that a big part of the problem though is that the news media is more interested in ratings than they are in informing the people. That leads to people being force fed propaganda that in turn fuels the divide between us. I am all for people having differing opinions than mine, as long as those opinions are their own and not what they have been told to believe. (A little off topic with this post but still valid)

@TheWinkler - where I'm from it's different. The legal discrimination usually goes the other way.

Above is a form that can be filled out by non-white people in canada to be considered for having their sentences reduced upon being convicted of any crime, violent or otherwise. It used to only be for indigenous people but has recently been expanded to include anyone who isn't white.
McGribble
McGribble - 7/6/2023, 7:48 AM
@TheWinkler - I am actually going to read through this in my down time today. 55 pages is not too much to take in quickly. A quick read of one section in particular does seem that the authors have VERY limited Data. As far as I can tell the numbers that are using are national, and not taking into consideration the state in which these arrests and imprisonments take place. Some states may have harsher penalties than others, while others have much weaker penalties. If the black exonerees are convicted in those states with harsher penalties while white exonerees are convicted in those states with lesser penalties, the numbers will be skewed significantly to paint slanted outcome. The truth is, that picking a sample size of 3,200 people as this report has done, is really hard to trust with any accuracy.
Matador
Matador - 7/6/2023, 8:57 AM
@Titan417 - Reason I said that was she going to find herself in a corner when the realization of what she's done how hard people will make it for her. She has no job coming out no one will hire her and she made lots of enemies. Even if she's free she's it will not be easy for her so she's going to have a choice to tough it out or off herself.

By the looks of it if she was peered pressured into a cult because it was easy for her or she liked it; she doesn't have a strong mind as the character she portrayed.

I'm not saying she should kill herself but all I'm saying within a year she will see her options are limited at life. Not many people have strong Wills to make amends and face the storm they created.

Titan417 - 7/7/2023, 3:55 AM
@Matador - I respect your opinion. Let’s hope she is stronger and finds a way to make peace with it. She went to prison and had time to reflect on her actions. She can always write a book on her experiences. Time will tell
